Pinstripe removal

Want the pinstripes off my 2008. How's the best way to remove them without hurting the paint?

Thx

Re: Pinstripe removal

Peel it off

Most pinstripes are just stickers now...just peel it off, use a little polishing compound on any areas where residue may remain then hit it up with some wax...

If it's painted on (which I doubt), someone else can chime in...

Re: Pinstripe removal

Thanks. Its adhesive. I'll just peel it off and wax.

Re: Pinstripe removal

Get a blowdryer and set it on low and heat as you peel. It will come right off. Then hit with some wax to shine it up. Worked great for me.

Re: Pinstripe removal

TIP: A little gas on a soft rag will clean up any residual adhesive.

first use a 30lb piece of fishing line and get the letters off the tape. then some heat and patience will get the tape off the paint. It took me a while to get the tape off mine, then a good rub down with adhesive remover. then I clay bar and waxed the whole truck and now she is looking super nice.

I have some halogen work lights...left them heated up pointed at each letter for a minute or so then slid behind with some dental floss...keep each letter HOT. Goo Gone worked really well to get the sticky portion off then a little polishing compound to clean up and then wax.

It takes a lot of patience, it took me over an hour to do the tailgate and both doors. I tried doing it quickly and that just doesn't work...you really need to expect for it to take awhile. The biggest thing though is to really make sure that they are really heated up.
