I have a obsession with wax. I have used plenty of waxes and while I won't participate in bashing waxes, I say at least the guy is waxing his truck. Thumbs up for that.
ProTip: The paint that you are actually waxing is clear.
A color tinted wax has no use in a clear coated world. The only possible advantage I could see it having is that it might dry black, which would make it less obvious if you have caked on wax left in little dings or chips.
The key to a good finish is having your clear coat be smooth and CLEAR.

LOL I actually bought that wax and was "schooled" on how to properly detail my truck...and my friend there are no short cuts to detailing and we shouldn't support this type of smokes and mirrors marketing or company! If you want to temporarily fill swirls try a glaze from adams or chemical guys. and if you want to fix the issue and not cover it hire a detailer or I highly recommend a detailing diy seminar, normally held at your local detailer stores.
I have unfortunately tried every product available at pepboys, walmart,autozone...If you must purchase them I recommend sticking with mothers, meguiars and 3m products. Or for real protection thats off the shelf is collinite wax
here's a project I recently finished. unfortunately I don't have before pictures but the swirls were bad! note the "swirl" you see in the sun spot is actually wax residue

Or, buy some quality stuff (I use Adams) and FIX it yourself. Light scratches and swirls will EASILY be removed from your paint/clearcoat if you follow the directions. No need to spend tons 'o' money at a professional detailer, or sit through a seminar.
Now, for the deeper scratches, sure, go with the pros, but for the little stuff, go with what has been tried and proven.
You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

I initially started with DIY and "known to work" products...got more confident and had my try a orbital polisher and ended up doing major swirl damage to the entire truck. Please learn from someone experienced or like I said attend a seminar/tutorial. they are usually free and helps save alot of money in the long run by minimizing uneeded products, minimizing damage, and most importantly saving you time. I guarantee you after being "educated" that you won't be going to the local car washes or be using costco microfiber towels on your car
when learning to detail what through me off the most was the fillers in the polishes you buy. It gives you a false sense of accomplishment and supports your bad habits of car detailing. when ever I was done detailing the reflection wasa flawless only to realize a month later that I added more swirls in the paint by not breaking down the polish well enough. The fillers will make the car paint look great for a time before they wash off. And if you question your ability to judge when a polish is completely broken down I strongly urge that you seek assistance. BTW the seminars are only 30 minutes long! let me ask you how long does it take for you to detail your car or better yet correct your mistakes

I use the portal cable polisher that is recommended with the Adams line. My "expertise" comes from the video that comes with the product. I never spend time correcting mistakes, because they are not made. (I lie, I dont tape crap off, so I find myself cleaning the rubber seals around the doors and what not)
I never go to the local car washes unless its to blast off the real heavy crap I occasionally get when playing in the mud.
Never has a cotsco mf towel touched the truck, never has a shammy touched the truck.
When Im in the mood to really clean the truck, I will spend several hours on it. Not because things are messed up, but because I LOVE cleaning the thing. Ill spend an hour underneath it with a high pressure hose blasting every nook and cranny of the under carriage. Hose my self off, sit down sipping a beer drying off, then continue on.
I wax it at least monthly, not because it needs it, but because I enjoy it. I like working with the Adams line because the results are proven, and its a very easy product to work with.
Stop assuming things you don't know about. While you may be a jedi knight when it comes to washing a vehicle, you know nothing about 99% of the folks on this board, and their knowledge or experience in the area.

Yea.. my bad. I get my panties in a wad sometimes. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I express mine with a little more enthusiasm then necessary. I just have become a huge fan of Adams, and get a little bent out of shape when I see it being lumped into a group of sub-par (IMO) stuff. Such as that at the Pep-boys and what nots. I have no idea why I'm like that, I have no vested interest in the company, just a huge believer in the products.
At any rate, I apologize for coming off like a crack head in withdrawal. I'm just naturally defensive. It comes with the job.

sounds good! I actually really like adams stuff it's just that they don't have a retailer around here and I normally don't plan ahead to detail cars it's just a spur of the moment type of deal and that's how I normally end up with my products

so no one ever answered why no love for turtle wax?
Probably because they've been around forever, use cheaper ingredients, and just don't have cult status. I've used a lot of their products in the past, and can't say I was disappointed. I know you get what you pay for, and what I've used from them did as I hoped for what I spent.
They are a broad spectrum car finish company.
