Re: Advice on cleaning engine compartment

for a true shine and removal of grime and grease use Westley's White Wall Cleaner. Get the concentrated stuff spray engine compartment down let soak in and hose off. Just drench everypart of the compartment I don't cover anything either. I worked for a truck dealer for years, thats all they used. also don't use anything that has silicone in it for your tires or interior as it will cause cracks in rubber and plastics. most of the stuff out there today does not have much silicone in it but still has some. there is some stuff called "Tannery" big huge spray can, used for leather, plastic, vinyl I have only found it at AutoZone, but its been a few years since i have seen it there. Now I use Mothers or Meguire's products only. a side note i only use westley's for my tires spray on dry tire then rinse off. you can use westley's for all your plastic or rubber exterior parts. hope this helps out everyone
