Clear coat flaking

The clear coat is flaking off on the top corner of my roof. Does anyone have any products or ideas of how to stop this before it get out of hand?

Re: Clear coat flaking

Whoa...Need more information and pics...
What year is the truck?
Has it been buffed or compounded or painted that you know of?
Have you damaged it with a high pressure water wand?
Are you the original owner?

The obvious answer is wetsand it, tape it and re-shoot with clear. Done game over.....

Re: Clear coat flaking

it sounds like your clear coat if being weakened either by the sun or other elements. the best advice i could give you is to wash your truck with a microfiber towel. use Maguires cleaner wax or Maguires gold class wax. another option is you can use a glaze on it. these products wont make your clear coat re appear like magic, but it will replenish your paint again and from there you can see if you need to go further. if your clear coat is gone in that spot then you will either have to have it buffed or resprayed.
