Looking to go bigger...

2006 Titan SE CC 4x4 w/ tow package (no off-road package)
Stock rims, but I installed PRG Products, 2" leveling kit

Hey, I'm looking to get some heighth off the ground and get a bigger tire, not too skinny though. How big can I go with the stock SE rims? I believe they're 265/70/18.

Thanks!

John

Thanks for the post John!

The most common size to run with your set up is the 305/65-18 BFG All Terrain T/A KO. This size measures 12" wide and 33.7" tall. However, this size is a litte to wide for the factory wheels. The approved wheel width range for this size tire is 8.5" to 11" The OEM wheels are only 8" wide. With that said, I would recommend the 275/70-18 size. This size is about 10.9" wide and 33.2" tall. Here's a link with the available tire models in this size.

I hope this information helps!

Re: Looking to go bigger...

2007 CC 2WD.
Going to be installing the PRG leveling kit 2.5 front and 1 rear. Would like to know how big I could go if I go with Larger wheels. I was thinking 20's. I am clueless and with all the opinions posted on here, it just confuses me even more. I would like to have something that has decent milage and good off road...especially sand. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

Re: Looking to go bigger...

There are a lot of Owners that have been running 325/60r18s for a while without any issues...

Hello Paul,

You have a lot of options to consider. I would recommend looking into an all terrain tire. The BFG TA KO gets great reviews for life and offroad performance but you'd have to step up to a larger lift to run this tire on a 20" wheel. When you get to the point of choosing a tire take a look at the Nitto Terra Grappler and Dune Grappler, these are both good options for sand.

When it comes picking the specific sizes, wider options will prove more functional for your sand use.

If it were my truck I'd look for a 20x9 with a -12mm - +18 mm offset and a tire in the 295/60R20. This is an agressive size for your 3/1 but with the right wheel width and offset they would look and work awesome on there. (minor fender liner modifications may be required to fit) If you don't want to worry about modifications the 305/55R20 would also be a great size.

*You will get a lot of mixed responses about what does and doesn't fit. The factors of wheel width, offset, tire size, tire brand and model all effect how your wheels and tires fit. Add to this that different leveling kits may have give you slightly different lift and you can see how things can get confusing.

Give us a call if you would like some more help with sizes and options. We would love to earn your business and we are happy to help you understand what wheels and tires before you purchase.

The 37's aren't out yet. Nitto hopes to release this size soon but at this time, they do not have a scheduled date.
