Let's face it, the crack pipe was in heavy rotation the day the Nissan Engineers chose the cloth for our Titan interiors. The only thing that eclipses the regurgitave response to it's aesthetic appeal is it's ability to attract stains like a trailer park toddler. I've just completed the conversion and gave (re) birth to basically a new truck. And I have the labor pains to prove it!

It was my birthday last month and I've gotten a little smarter over the years. My gifting-challenged family normally goes to great lengths to give me exactly what I don't want, don't need or don't recognize. "But it's on sale"! This time I left subtle hints, like leaving the Katskins web site up when I stepped away from the computer. Setting out leather scented potpourri. I arranged for my wife's car to have it's 60,000 mile service so she had to drive my truck for a couple days. The kids were an easy sell. Hell when I would pick them up from school they would pretend they didn't know me. I'd offer their friends a ride… "NO"! "She can walk it's only 5 miles.." So for my birthday I received a single card that was basically a permission slip to "GET YOUR DAMN SEATS DONE". Yea

I'd done a lot of research on Katskins and leatherseats.com and there didn't seem to be much of a difference. Some are even of the opinion they are the same kit. Katskins has a flashy website that is wholly lacking in substance (typical for California) It seems you have to go through a distributor. Kits could be ordered directly through the leatherseats.com website and appeared to be a little cheaper than Katskins but they don't have the cool name or the California / Foose connection. For my '07 CC w/ 6 seats it looked to be between $750 to $850. Then I saw this add on fleaBay -

Nissan Titan leather interior seat covers seats 04 - 09:eBay Motors (item 350270329732 end time Nov-25-09 09:40:48 PST)

Oklahoma gets a little more attractive at $599. I called and they said this was the same kit I would spend $750 on if I ordered thru the website. I guess they just rotate some of their deals through Ebay to generate sales. This was a customer built-to-order kit that I chose colors and options. As of now this sale is still active. The deal is for two tone but I didn't want that and they let me add a double contrasting stitch for the same price. For the leather color I chose "charcoal" but the sales rep said they have a great match they found for the Titan plastic pieces they called "Titan Bronze". Sounded a little gay to me but I went with that and a dove gray stitch to match the headliner color.

Stay tuned... I'll go thru the installation process and have some pics also.

Sometimes it was necessary to leave my firearm in the Titan but I have been fearful of the break glass and grab type criminal. The solution was a safe but I have seen none that satisfied my needs until now. The only real drawback is that I lose most of my center console storage space. The safe I chose uses a Simplex (mechanical combination) lock and is made of heavy, and I really do mean heavy, steel. I made a choice to use existing metal nuts to secure the safe to the vehicle. I could have drilled holes into the floorboard. Here is what I did.
•	Removed rubber tray from bottom of center console.
•	Unscrewed three, now-visible screws that secured the center console black “bucket” to the gray center console itself.
•	Pulled black bucket out of center console exposing gray plastic with three nuts. See picture 937.
•	Spent one hour at Lowes looking for longer screws to fit into two of the nuts, one forward and one aft.
•	Placed safe in bucket and marked two places where I would drill holes in safe.
•	Drilled two pilot holes followed by correct size hole for screws. Forward screw hole is .185 inches. Aft screw hole is .1960 inches. See picture 936 for forward hole.
•	Placed bucket back in center console. Screwed in one original aft, driver-side screw to secure bucket where screw does not go through safe.
•	Place safe in bucket and screwed it down from the inside to remaining retaining nuts. See picture 941.
•	Opened safe with empty holster. See picture 944.
•	Placed firearm in holster. See picture 940.
The safe is not visible unless the center console door is flipped open. I can open the safe with one hand. A hydraulic cylinder opens the top of the safe presenting the firearm for my right hand. I can put an extra magazine and my wallet in the bottom of the safe. There is room alongside the safe to store some papers in the bucket.

I have searched several upgrade/options that I would like to add to my XE. Some of the threads are quite good, others never answer some of the questions.

What I would like, as I am sure other XE owners also might like, is what options/upgrades are available for the XE (options that already exist on SE and LE models) - all listed in one thread.

To be more specific, what has been pre-wired or provisioned for that we my not be aware of. For example, I would not have thought that I could add keyless entry to my XE, so I probably would not have researched how to do it. However, while reading a thread about something else, I learned that if an XE has the TPMS and Power Windows, then it has the ability to have keyless entry already built in -mine has these options :)

What other things are already there:
Perhaps-

existing wiring for power mirrors?

hookups for bed lighting?

harness for the overhead options?

provision for power seats?

options available in the BCM that can be turned on?

Other things I cannot think of off the top of my head. :read:

Any insight you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Now i got to decide what to do on the Shifter plate piece. I was thinking painting it silver to contrast. Any suggestions?

I know not everyone loves the carbon fiber type look, but i like it alot better than looking at my console with scratches and turning black/white from the paint wear.

I have an 08,SE,KC,BT,2wd FFV with most of the available options and I certainly enjoy the truck. I actually prefer the condition I am going to ask about but I don't know if it is normal. If the headlights are left on or the key is left in the ignition the chime sounds to inform you so I know the chime is operational. When my seatbelt light comes on in the dash display it goes off when I buckle up and I like it like that. My manual says that the chime will sound and the light remain on until you fasten the seatbelt but my chime does not sound for this (the light does remain on). I might have missed it in the manual but is there some way to silence the seat belt chime that I might have overlooked? We can silence the horn beep feature when we lock the doors with the keyfob so perhaps the seat belt chime can be silenced as well?

What are the toggle switches for? Either way I push them the same side lights up. Are they supposed to do something different depending on which way you push them? Are they supposed to light up differently when pushed one way or the other?

Here are some pictures of my newly installed custom NU Image gauge overlay painted to match the color of my truck. The Installation wasn't too bad except for when it came to getting the needles back on and I didn't like that the new gauges didn't have a sticky back to them to stick on the plastic like the stock gauges did. I plan on doing a FULL Write up on the install with some pictures of the needles off and how to get the connectors off and pictures of where all the screws are soon.

my cover for the gauges is a lil scratched up.. someone insisted on helping me clean, but didn't check for rocks in the rag before wiping down the plastic cover.. Does anyone know where I can get a new one?
