Well, against my better judgement I decided to install 2" spacers on top of Bilstein 5100's just to see how much coil bucket contact I was going to get. The installation went fine, except I could not do one side at a time as the instructions said. I could not get the sway bar end link on one side to come out of the hole on the LCA unless I jacked up the other side to relieve some tension off of the other LCA.

Once installed the truck looked perfect, and drive / rode great....except for going over a couple of speed bumps when I got coil bucket contact and heard a loud thud. When I got back to the house I inspected the buckets & there were the noticeable gashes from the UCA's. I then started the process all over again to remove the spacers.

I did everything exactly as I did the first two times. (remember - I installed the 5100's a while back so I am no stranger to this process) But there was NO WAY to remove the bolt that holds the shock on the LCA - the coil spring was still under too much load. I had never had this happen. The bolt always came right out, then you remove the nut holding the spindle to the UCAgive the spindle a whack or two and the LCA falls down.

So since the coil was obviously stoll under load, I had to create more distance between the LCA and the UCA so I went ahead and took the spindle nut off and gave it a whack. It separated, but there was STILL A LOAD ON THE COIL!!!! I ended up having to beat the bolt some and unscrew it some to get it out. Well, needless to say the threads are galled up beyond repair and the hole in the shock mount on the LCA are wallowed out pretty bad on one side.

Now comes the real trouble. NO ONE HAS REPLACEMENT BOLTS!!! Nissan has them on back order. It is a specialty bolt as it has a shoulder on one side. The larger part is 14mm so I tried to go buy a couple of grade 8 - 14mm x 70mm bolts at the only 2 bolt warehouses in town - no one has them.

So right now I still have my truck on jack stands in the garage. I have bolts on order with Nissan & I have 14mm x 70mm bolts on the way at a bolt warehouse to get my truck back running. So here are my questions......

What the heck happened, and what else am I going to have to replace? Obviously something has bent, I just don't know what. Any ideas?

PS: Brand new 2" levelling billet aluminum spacers for sale. I have measured and remeasured them with a dial caliper. They are exactly 1.2" thick just as they are supposed to be. Nothing wrong with them - only my truck.

Hi everyone,

Ive been searching the threads for about a week now and haven't exactly found what I'm looking for. I have an 05 KC 4x4 LE, and am going to order a PRG mini lift (preferably tonight). Ive been in contact with Greg, but my main question is...

Does anyone have pics of both the 1.5" block and the 1" rear block in the rear? I dont want it all raked out in the rear but I still want it to look like theres some amount of lift out back. I have 325-60-18 nittos on order hopefully be here next week or end of this week from discount tire.

Again, Ive been searching forever on this but to no avail, any info or help is greatly appreciated. Also, this truck has been towing a 4K landscape trailer since it was new and only comes unhitched in the winter and for oil changes so maybe there's some droop and 1.5's would be ok? Thanks in advance

I am giving serious consideration to a 2010 Pro4X Crew. I noticed that it's on road ride was a serious improvement to my 08 2wd Silverado. The Titan is much less "springy" than my Chevy. The LTZ 4wd I test drove last summer was stiffer and more "springy" than the 2wd version I ended up purchasing.

I also have driven the Raptor this week and would put it real close to the Nissan as far as on road manners and ride.

What is the reason for this? I am guessing that the shocks are the key ingredient (and maybe the tires - but trail tires have stiffer sidewalls I believe) but I am a novice to off-roading...
