Re: Need to go offroading NOW

I'm in Tampa, I wouldn't mind going and doing some off roading. I know there are some good places in the Withalacooche state forest (sp?) in brooksville. Not really sure where exactly they are in the forest but I'm sure we could find out. we should make a trip up there one weekend.

Re: Need to go offroading NOW

That sounds like fun.

I'm going to check out a lot of places, learn the trails, then see if people want to get a meet together or something.

Re: Need to go offroading NOW

I did a little bit of reasearch and it looks like we could definitely get something going in the State forest. There are two different tracts of land with a bunch of trails... citrus and Richloam. Richloam looks like it has alot of mud, and Citrus has more dry technical stuff. Both places you can go around any of the really tough stuff. I think I'm gonna head out there sometime soon with a friend or two, I'll report back, hopefully we can get somethin going.

Re: Need to go offroading NOW

Can you post the link you were looking at? I live pretty close to the state forest. Maybe I can meet up with you.

Re: Need to go offroading NOW

If you look under trail rides on www.NTORA.com you can find pics of richloam and Citrus. You can find some info on www.suncoastflatlanders.com. I found the best info on a 4-runner forum but can't find it now. There are alot of pictures of Richloam here http://rides.webshots.com/album/557772592DYbwfi

It looks like alot of fun stuff

Re: Need to go offroading NOW

thx man I'm going to check out those links. I haven't had too much luck with trails around my neck of the woods. The best one I found was a little too tight for a lifted fullsize truck. It was more of a jeep trail.

Re: Need to go offroading NOW

I found an awesome trail right across from the Ocala Speedway. I couldn't do most of the trails because it was all rock crawling but the main trail was pretty dang rugged and muddy. I'm waiting for my friend that owns a jeep to get in town so we can check out the rock crawling trails. Fun fun!
