Re: Future Nissan Titan Ideas/Discussion/Suggestions?

Two diesel options. One for a heavy duty work truck and one for pure economy which will get 30 mpg on the highway at 70-75.

Fender flares to keep the truck clean and won't be taped on with scotch tape like the mud flaps.

inflatable air ride suspension for big tow package.

Re: Future Nissan Titan Ideas/Discussion/Suggestions?

First we need a reliable truck. That means tossing out both diffs and starting over. After that, a diesel stake bed chasis for work. But Nissan? Want to KEEP ignoring the Differential disaster plauging your line up?(Xterra, Titan, Frontier) Then dont bother with any changes, because the word is spreading like wild fire.

Re: Future Nissan Titan Ideas/Discussion/Suggestions?

I've got another idea, I don't think this one was covered, either. We need "upgraded" switchgear; something that has a little heavier "feel" to it. For instance, on my '04, on the climate controls: they have this lightweight, I hesitate to say "cheap" feel, and the knobs just feel like plastic grinding against plastic as you turn them. Also, when you click the AC to ON, you have to look at the button to make sure you got the silly thing turned on. In direct sunlight, you can't see it at all. If the button had a sort of 'pop in/pop back out' function, (like it was recessed 1/8" when ON) that would help a LOT...

Re: Future Nissan Titan Ideas/Discussion/Suggestions?

I would like to suggest better front and rear shocks from the factory. Something like Billsteins all around. The shocks and struts were the first mod I was forced to make when the factory ones leaked and the dealer said it was not covered - 6 months 5000 miles on a 2005 CC purchased new off that dealer's lot.

I think I would have fought harder to have them replaced, that's BS.

Someone mentioned "NO MANUAL HUBS" earlier. Why? Just curious what your reasoning is? I would love to have manual hubs.

The problem with alot of the features nowadays is that they aren't "truck" features. They are features that the soccer moms want. Features that the blue collar types want. Trucks have gotten too automobilelike in recent years.

i have to agree that i'm a bit disappointed in the twist on 4wd that's been out for a while. i like to phsycally shift my truck into 4wd.. so i know it all went well.. i like to feel it!

less computers, celenoids, and sensors, more bulletproof mechanically operated devices.

Quality key fob that controls all window up/down, remote start and switchblade key intergrated.
Think Nissan is listening to all these great ideas & improvements?

Re: Future Nissan Titan Ideas/Discussion/Suggestions?

Here is a list of my suggestions as to help make the Titan the best truck on the market. I had an 04 and traded it in for an 05 because it had too many issues, although I'm happy with my 05 there are still things I think that could use some refinement. Its not in any particular order. Some of my items are the same as everyone else's but I think that we need to all mention them or else Nissan wont understand how serious it is!

PAINT- The paint is just horrible, the worst paint I've ever seen on a vehicle is it that hard to make it better?

Sunroof option in KC

6' bed on CC models

Better axles!

No cheesy looking wood grain, what about real brushed aluminum?

Quality leather on the seats. FRONT AND REAR!

Trip computer

Arm rests on captains chairs that dont loosen up and wiggle.

Better quality interior that doesn't scratch easily.

Turn off the AC compressor with the defroster or blower turned off

When I put the blower on "0" then why does air still come in? Make a way to close the vents off.

Just a little more room in the wheel wells to fit 35's with the leveling kit and no cutting.

More room behind the back seats. I like to add aftermarket audio stuff and there is no room to mount the amps. Its also a nice area to stash stuff like a rain coat and jumper cables.

The bedside lock box is awesome but could you make it a little bigger? I'd like to be able to fit my tow hitch and a bunch of straps in there, its just a little too small.

Thicker stronger carpet! Mine ripped in the corner where the seat mounts.

Move the cabin vent to the drivers side away from the exhaust!

Reduce the wind noise when the windows are down on the highway.

Factory installed rain guards on the windows.

Raise the back seats to offer more room between the bottom of the rear seats and the floor for storage and leg room.

More sound proofing inside the cabin.

Less drone!

Less vibrations in the doors with the music turned up.

A real quality audio system that is worth the premium price, no more FAKE Rockford Fosgate!!

Thicker coating of the sprayed in bed liner

Better design for the door sill plastic. You take it up once and it never fits right again.

HID projector headlights from the Factory

3/4 ton option

Diesel option for 1/2 and 3/4 ton.

Better tow mode.

Real BFG All Terrain KO tires on off road. NO MORE RUGGED TRAILS THAT DONT LAST AND ARE HORRIBLE "OFF ROAD" TIRES.

Real limited slip, no more braked controlled.

Bilstein shocks on off road, no more leaky Rancho junk!!!

Option for fog lights on with parking lights

220 amp alternator

Option to add a real snow plow.

Remote start! please this would be so easy to do!

Dimming outside mirrors

Better backup lights.

VVT on both sides.

6sp tranny for better economy

Economy mode to better mileage

100k warrantee.

This is all great feedback to Nissan. I hope that someone at Nissan really pays attention and tries to address some of these issues.

THANK YOU!

Re: Future Nissan Titan Ideas/Discussion/Suggestions?

I don't know if it has been suggested yet but maybe a VERY FAST TITAN that could beat an Srt-10 stock or a Lightning or something like that.

Re: Future Nissan Titan Ideas/Discussion/Suggestions?

I put a'lot of thought into this - here goes:
1. First & foremost - better PAINT!!!!
2. Optional smaller gas V-8 for those who don't care to race people on the highways and endanger other innocent people on the highway, that will get better gas mileage. Nothing too wimpy - about a 5.0 liter.
3. Diesel engine option - biodiesel compatible that has towing capacity similar to what our trucks currently have, but REALISTICALLY gets 20+ mpg. (when not towing of course)
4. 4 x 4 models should come levelled from the factory - or very close. Only a 2wd truck should have the rake my 4x4 has.
5. Less rattles in the cab.
6. I don't know if the Titan's wheelbase has changed for 2008, but the 07 & earlier versions need 4 - 6 more inches of wheelbase. The king cab version gets the extra space in the back seat (bed length stays the same) and the crew cab version gets the extra length in the bed (cab size stays the same)
7. Put the towing relays in the darn truck - even if there is no factory towing package on the truck as it sits on the lot.

Things not to change - only improve somewhat if necessary:
1. THE LOOK AND FEEL OF THE TITAN!!!! AWESOME!!! Let me elaborate....the exterior look & interior feel are excellent. There is no need for any drastic body style changes. Absolutely the BEST looking truck on the road!
2. Keep the 5.6 liter V-8 as the standard engine, and offer the others I mentioned above as options.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, I think they spend more time worrying about how it looks vs. what they really need to make improvements on, i.e. transmission, front/rear diffs, transfer case, etc. Brake problem does appear to have been solved though.

Re: Future Nissan Titan Ideas/Discussion/Suggestions?

Window controls. I have an 06 Titan, here are some annoyances I've discovered with the window controls.

Locking out passengers also locks the driver controls from controlling the other windows... Driver should always be able to lock out the passengers and control the windows while on lock out.

Major issue: dogs can EASILY open the rear (and front) windows when their paws press the controls...
