Don't worry i'm not taking it the wrong way. The dodge tranny has all sorts of problems but the deisel itself is bulletproof.
my old dodge had a slew of tranny problems and torque convertor problems. tranny went south as i was accelerating thru an intersection and almost got t-boned. as far as the CTDs, at my work, we have a fleet of CTDs with well over 200,000 miles and they're abused like funny cars!! CTDs will go forever even with minimal maintenence. the few Powerstrokes in our fleet are always in need of TLC.

Can't wait till I ship out and till I get the Infantry MOS I want.
Well so far my 08 has nothing but great horse-power/torque. Now if the 2009 offers 400+ HP, that's great for those who have the need for speed. My truck is used to haul myself and the family to just about anywhere; the 317 it currently has is perfect. every now and then when I have to pass a slow-poke, those 317 horses never fails to do it's job.
I'm confident even with the previous 305 HP Titans.

I read somewhere that they were adding a transmission in '09 that would improve mpg around town. Any info as to the accuracy of the article?
Yes, that is true. I posted it at another site......see if I can find it.
Something about the torque convertor disengaging.

"Nissan engineers tell us that fuel economy will be boosted for 2009 when Titan adopts a new torque lockup strategy. We’re expecting this to be accomplished through a new, more efficient multi-function torque converter for the truck’s standard 5-speed automatic transmission that will disengage from the driveline when idling at a stop and use a lockup clutch to quickly match engine and transmission speeds during acceleration. This should provide the Titan with a 1 to 2-mpg bump driving around town. Think of it as taking some of a manual transmission’s inherent fuel economy advantages and applying them to an auto gearbox."
