2009 titan?

A friend from work has a titan, and was at the dealer today. He said the service guy told him the titan will get a different engine a 6 liter with 400 hp. The dealer told him there is no literature out on it yet, and they were building it to beat the tundra.

Re: 2009 titan?

If anyone has the room to build a massive horsepower motor... even with the strict new laws about mpg's... it would be nissan, becuase of slow truck sales. I don't believe it though.

Re: 2009 titan?

They gotta do something to boost sales.... They're obviously not investing in advertising like they should.

yeah i dont understand the lack of advertising, the truck can out compete the big 3. it would help with aftermarket parts too

i wouldn't doubt it. dodge has the 6.1L hemi, they're thinking of incorporating into the new 09 Ram later in the model year, chebby has the 6.0L already, Ferd is currently working on the 6.3L Boss motor v8, so a VK60 with DOHC VVTI with a silky smooth 6sp tranny, has got to be another Big 4 Killer!!!

Don't be too envious of the PROfx4. They are nice, but you can't get the same options on it as you used to. Man you can't even get the same options i have on my truck anymore. Infact i haven't seen/heard any other titans having the same combo of options. but i think that the new direction that nissan needs to take is in making the Titan more fuel efficient. It is a truck yes and yes there are trade-offs between mpg and power, but maybe nissan can come up with a better compromise between the two with out sacrificing power... wishful thinking probably but ya never know... haha

well from the few i've had the opportunity to check out, its 10x better in terms of interior quality over my 04. seats are better, stitching is better, the plastic trim is beautiful and better, to sum it up the entire interior is better! as for fuel-economy if cylinder deactivation in the hemi motor shows that fuel economy isn't much better than if it just straight ran all cylinders. unless Nissan built a turbo-charger to attach to the vk56 to yield more power with the same fuel-economy or better would be great!!

Gasoline or Diesel? My assumption would be gasoline, but there are many of us out there praying for the diesel.

Re: 2009 titan?

that would be awesome. i'm extremely anxious to see the next big change for the titan. i took my wife's versa in for an oil change and tried to probe the service manager (as usual) and he didn't have any info. All he could tell me was he was about to build a no fear titan w/ one of the pro-4x's on the lot.
