My god I just read about the 2011 Ram/Nissans being a cooperative between Nissan and Dodge at autoweek....
WHY are they doing this....well $$$$ is the number one reason. But I dont know If I will EVER buy another Nissan after this.
I had a Dodge RAm 2002 1500 Q cab.....and Liked the truck but Had way too many issues in less than the 2 years I owned the truck....I hope this is well designed and well thought out......I wanted a Titan since they came out and got one finally this year (used 2004) ...Man I dont know what to think of this....I hope the gas mileage is way better than my old Dodge if they use Chrysler engines.....
Hey, don't worry... The co-op between Chrysler and Mercedes worked out well. Mercedes finally started turning out garbage thanks to them but atleast the Chrysler/Dodge line looks nicer now.
I could stomach the change if they at least kept the Nissan engine and tranny. The Dodge chassis, in all fairness, is probably as good or better than ours in terms of quality.
If we inundate the Nissan - TN headquarters with this request, do you think we would have a chance? They will still be making the 5.6/tranny for the Armada and Infinity at this point.
dodge is claiming 23mpg in the highway on their new 2009 hemi. but ill probably go either tundra or gmc ( dont like chevy front end as much). Or get a lil truck and a charger srt8.
Nope, it's all about the bottom line. Trucks aren't selling; 4-cylinder fuel efficient vehicles are. Out of the same plant that makes the Titan, Armada, QX56, and Quest that just aren't selling, we can't make enough Altima's. With the future full-size pickup and SUV sales projections, it's just not cost effective to built Titan in Canton for the time being. I hate it because it is my favorite product out of the plant, but at least we have the ability to increase capacity on my 2nd favorite product and cut truck production from the plant without laying off Nissan employees. Not too many manufacturers can lay claim to that.
Makes business sense. Would you rather have no Titan?
Last I heard, its going to have the new HEMI (somewhere around 400 h.p.).
Ummm...No, sorry. If I wanted a Dodge, I'd buy a Dodge. I don't want a Nissan built by Dodge, either. Nissan has made a poor decision at this point. They've lost me as a customer.

I would say they are focused on the GTR, which is their 2009 flagship vehicle.
The GT-R, while a bad *** car, is NOT Nissan's flagship. It is produced in too few numbers to be a flagship. The new '09 Maxima is the flagship of the Nissan lineup. The Max has been and probably always will be the flagship of the line. Man, I can't wait until our GT-R's get here!

most people won't buy another nissan after owning a titan. I don't think dodge could do any worse with the truck than nissan has. Why would nissan invest more money in a market that is no longer existant? The current dodge trucks get equal or better (most cases) than you titan does. Do some research before you open your mouth.
What research is he supposed to do? He is upset the truck he used to own and didn't like, is getting into bed with the truck he currently owns and loves. No need to be an a$$ about it.

He was complaining that dodge trucks use too much gas. The truth is though that they are at least as efficient as the titan is in most cases. The very premise of his argument was out to lunch.
