Re: Any news on the new "Titan" or whatever it may be yet?
I spoke with my salesperson monday when I took my truck in for an oil change,
and he mentioned that it will be an all Nissan truck except for the engine, he mentioned that it would carry the heart of a Hemi.

its all about what's cost-effective for Nissan as a whole. stupid if you ask me! if anything they should improve the VK56 or enlarge it and make it yield greater efficiency with massive gains in power and offer that as the HEMI replacement for dodge and as the standard powerplant for the dodge built Titan. now from what i've read, its an all Nissan design just built in Saltillo, Mexico (dodge factory not being used) by dodge FOR nissan. as a matter of cost-effectiveness Nissan is rumored to be fudging with the idea, although it has been reported and discussed with an exec from Nissan, that the Hemi will be the v8 motor of choice for the future titan. also a V6 built by dodge would be offered for those who decide on a work truck with fuel efficiency and affordability. also as an option, the cummins diesel motor would be an option for the titan as well. so far that's all that has been rumored, but hell, anything can change in the next few months. although, the new titan is getting closer and closer to its unveiling so they'd better step it up and figure out wtf they are going to do!!!!!!!

Re: Any news on the new "Titan" or whatever it may be yet?
Still nothing confirmed?? Im at a stand still....Im hoping to get at least 8 years out of my 2004 ....when the time comes for an upgrade I wanna know whether to look for a low mileage Titan from 2009.
I realize a lot has been worked on and much behind closed doors is going on but the least they can do is give us any "good" news as well as the bad.
Personally I dont see why the 5.6 isnt kept at least as an option....... I love my truck and powerplant.....the Hemis are powerful and good motors but the rest of the dodge drivetrains and ancillary systems are suspect. Steering systems, transmissions, and all the bells and whistles have always had issues on Dodge trucks......Im keeping an open mind but not happily.
