Yep sure does. I checked it in as a doe.
Our hunting regs say that for it to count as a buck it has to have antlers 3 inches or longer.
What pi$$ed me off is that [and I hate to admit this] 30 min before I shot this deer I missed a nice 6 point [3X3] at 15 yds. I still don't know how I missed a chip shot. I'm thinking my lower bow limb was touching my tree stand because at the shot it just didn't sound right. At the shot he just jumped back and stood there looking around. I couldn't believe it. He didn't hang around long enough for a second shot though. The deer I killed was a 25 yard shot and it was a perfect double lung pass through. I watched the deer go down within 50 yds.
BTW, I saw the same 6 point the next morning but as he was coming into bow range the wind shifted and he got a whiff of me. Bow hunting is tough. But I do LOVE it!!!!!!!

I missed a doe at 15 yards on friday. It was all my stupidity though. As soon as I saw it fly over her back, I realized I used my 20 yard pin. DOH!!!
Them damn pins mess me up also. I am down to just a 20 and 30 yard pin. What kind of bow are you shooting? There should not be much if any difference between 15 and 20 yards. Mine is only about a inch high at 10 yards with my 20 yard pin.

Your going to have to come up with a better excuse than that LOL. My 20 yd. pin is used from the base of my tree out to 22 yards. It should only be an inch or so high or an inch or so low anywhere in that range. In other words, if you shoot for the center of the chest it is one dead son of a gun.
You don't really need a 15 yd, 25 yd, etc pin. Unless your shooting tournaments where pin point accuracy is required.
I have a 20, 30 and a 40 yd pin. Very seldom do I ever use the 40 in a hunting situation, unless it is the perfect broadside or slightly quartering away shot, then the deer has to be completly in the open. I most often just use to 40 yd pin for practice. After shooting 40 yards a 20 or even a 30 yard shot is easy.
I'm thinking you had a bad case of the jitters. Believe me, I still get them even if it is "just" a doe. When I stop getting excited when a deer comes into range, i'll call it quits and take up golf.

I don't know then. It felt like a good shot. Maybe because I'm still not use to shooting from a tree stand.
But the buck I got made some good jerky!
oh and I bought some new arrows and tuned them with some muzzy's. Maybe that will help.
Yeah, shooting from a tree stand does make a difference, especially on those close shots. If your not careful your lower bow limb will be touching the platform and when you shoot it throws everything out of whack.
Muzzy's are good, no doubt about that.
Deer jerky is hard to beat, my son eats the stuff like candy, lol.
Finally got back in the woods yesterday evening. At 4:00 I saw two does feeding on acorns 50 yds. away. At 4:30 saw movement on the same ridge and as the deer stepped into a small opening all I could see were antlers. Largest buck I have ever seen on my place, in fact he was the largest buck I have seen in many, many years. Only problem, he was 75 yards away and going in the wrong direction. I watched as he tore a sapling to shreds and made a scrape. I tried every trick in the book, grunt call, doe bleats, etc but he would have none of it. he made a semi circle around me tearing up trees the whole time, I though I was going to have a sroke, lol. I'll try again this evening, but i'm pretty sure he is not a resident buck he was just on the move checking things out. I'll probably never see him again.
Good luck to ya!!!

I got lucky last year with a passer through. I hadn't seen any decent bucks untill this 9 point came through chasing a doe. Lucky for me he stopped broadside at about 50 yards.
I've seen a decent buck a few times this year in the same spot, but haven't gotten him yet.
Question: I had someone tell me to bend at the waist when shooting from a tree stand. Bending your arms will throw off your shot. Anyone have any knowledge on this? Seems to me that it wouldn't make much difference.

Whoever told you that is correct. I'm not exactly sure why this is unless it has somthing to do with draw length, etc. But it does make a difference. This is why I would much prefer a 20 yd. shot over a 10 yd. Not only is the shooting angle much better on the 20 yard target but unless you are much over 20 feet up a tree the need to bend at the waist is neglible as the shot is almost flat.

Well I met a ninja trained buck yesterday morning.
I made a perfect shot on this buck, but he managed to turn just in the nick of time so that my arrow just grazed his side and flew into the brush behind him!
I even heard it as it grazed him! It was the perfect hieght and would have nailed him if he wouldn't have moved.
Then he trotted out about 50 yds and just kind of walked away, like he was mocking me!
Oh well....there will be another chance....
