As you can see by the pic, I got lucky on this one.
I'm not sure how I missed my mark because I had a good bead on him. Not sure if he jumped or moved at the last second, but I got lucky and I'll take it.
He's not very big, but it's meat in the freezer!

Congrats, but might want to recheck your sights. Never seen one back up when startled. Could have just pulled the shot, but I would recheck just to be certain.

Nice f'ing shot man!
Go back and delete that 'accidental' crap, and let everyone believe you are robin hood.
LOL! I thought about that, but I can't lie. Anyone that bow hunts knows it's not easy at all to make a perfect shot in the field, and this is just my second year to bowhunt.
I have jokingly told a few people that that is how you do it to keep from having to chase them down afterward.

I know how you feel. This doe did not go anywhere either. But I can't lie I aimed about a foot lower, she was quartering me looking straight at me I must have used the 40 yard pin instead of the 20 yard pin.

Dam speed!
That's a nice buck!
I'll be looking for one like that next.
I saw one about that size 150 yds out on Saturday. Just wait for rifle season...
I've got one more buck tag to fill and I'll save it for a good one.
I've got 4 doe tags I can fill in the mean time.

He was a nice one for sure.
The morning was very foggy with a thick haze covering at least 3ft from the ground.
It just was getting light when I saw movement coming around my right side.
I realized it was a large bodied deer, but to be honest I couldnt tell if it was a 8pt or larger.
At my shot he turned left and only when he jumped over a dead tree did I get a good look at the spread of his antler.
He may have ran 30yrds then crashed up, but I wasnt joking when I said I let the big one walk away.
It was right after my shot that I heard movement heading away from me and I saw a deer with a much larger rack than this one moving back
into the thic stuff.
This was a nice 10pt that was taken in 2006. During that year I chose not to enter into the Georgia Outdoor news "Truck Buck" contest, andIve regretted it ever since.
The taxidermist I took the deer to was well known in that region of Georgia and any quality deer taken within a 3 county region was typically taken to him for mounting.
I was informed this was the largest deer he mounted that year from his region which would have allowed me entry into a attempt to win that years truck.
This deer came from a region about a hour south of Augusta Ga on property that belongs to my wife's family.
I live/hunt a region of S-Ga that is so close to Florida that when I sneeze a Gator fan will likly bless me.

Wow!!! That's a hell of a shot, lol.
Congrats to ya, he looks big enough to me.
BTW, I got #2 Sat. morning. I thought I was shooting another doe but turns out it was a buck. One side was broken off at the hairline and the other was just a two or three inch stub. He must of been one bad azz Mo Fo.
