Fine for fishing without license?

anybody know what the standard fine for fishing without a license is? My brother and I went up to Silverwood this morning and he left his license behind. We decided to chance it and sure enough - the game warden came around and he got cited. He cut him a break and wrote him a citation for "failure to display" as opposed to fishing without. Anyway, Im sure a fine will be coming in the mail soon and the game warden wouldnt say how much it is. Any ideas? Before you send flames saying tell him to fork up the $32 and buy a license - he has one - honestly left at the house. Just not our day!

If it turns out to be a significant amount, I would go court if possible and
show the judge my license. Around here a judge would probably dismiss,
but since you are in Ca. your brother will possibly need an attorney and
a second mortgage!
