Photos taken by a Texas Forest Service guy on an assignment at
the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge in South Carolina. Looks to be
about a 12 footer. Taken from a helicopter.

I guess that deer was a little careless when he went for a drink.
We don't have any gators here in Tennessee, but it seems like
the deer population is getting to be a road hazard.
Austin, I wouldn't want to be the guy who asked to see his permits!
Yeah, that is an alligator not a crocodile btw. While gators don't come north as far as my home in SC. We do get plenty of cotton mouths, and I'm not sure which is worse. I don't think anything is freakier than walking next to a river and seeing cotton mouths hit the water in droves. Of course hearing a rattle snake is pretty intense too or seeing just the eyes of a gator peaking out of the water at you. Give me a mountain lion or brown bear any day.

looks like he was taking him to his underwater hole...those big bull gators hide their kills underwater. I have seen gators pull small deer a few times while out gator hunting. Never busted one that big though

Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I need some action, and the selection is quite limited here in BFE Alabama.
Where's that Debra Winger when you need her?
Suggested Plan A:
I remember being a long way from home working in another state and not
knowing alot of people. I met a preacher who told me if I would come to
his church five times, he would fix me up himself. I bet if you put on one
of those dress uniforms and did some visiting on Sunday, you'll have a
bunch of those young ladies after you!
Plan B:
Finish the keg, first. The ones you've been meeting will look better.
I think Plan B is a bit more plausible. Relying on the uniform to score only goes so far in a town that is dependent on the military installation it neighbors.
Cool pics. Lots of them big lizards around here.
True story:
A coaching buddy and his wife were out fishing on the banks of the Indian River (east coast of FL). Gator got his dog (Bruce) off the river bank. Buddy went into the water (chest deep) and pulled the dog out of the gators mouth while punching the s*** out of it's snout. Broke his hand. Gator "death rolled" with the dog's leg still in his mouth and tore the dogs leg off at the shoulder. The gators tail cracked friend's wife's knee cap in 1/2. She was in a cast and had rehab a long time. It was on the news a couple of years ago. He has all the news stories, interviews, eventual gator capture/killing on video tape. Follow up news reports on friend's, wife's and dogs injuries on tape too. It'll make you cry if you watch it. I would have never believed him if he had not shown me the tape. Met him after the fact.
Bruce (the dog) still digs holes in the back yard with only one front leg.
Saw on TV yesterday (nature show) a big tiger in India catch a big croc on the banks of a river (about 20-30 yards away from the water). Jumped on it's back and choked it out at the neck with it's teeth and jaws. Freeked me out! Never would have thought that would happen. Croc was not very mobile side to side. Tiger kept circling and darting in and out. It was an unbelievable fight. Tiger almost got cracked with that tail a few times.

I saw that too, that cat was on a mission!
Although I have never had to deal with Crocks or Gators, I sure wish we had something up here that would work on the deer population! Hunting for them seems to be on the decline and we have basically no predators, so the population is just getting out of control.
