300 Weatherby Southgate manu-Mauser type action

The only "interesting" gun I have is an older 300 Weatherby built in Southgate California on a Mauser type action. It is probably 50's vintage before the 9 lug bolt.Want to sell it($750) but it has to be in in state sale.I don't want any ATF problems. To my eye the wood is kinda nice, otherwise it is nothing special(fierce recoil-light rifle)Charlie

Only have a Walther P22 two tone for small game hunting with my dogs. Sold my Ruger 10-22 with scope and MKII bull barrel. Had a tiny Taurus P-22 that was a Beretta clone and was the most accurate pistol I've ever shot.

I have:
Pre-ban Bush Master AR15 with Telestock , flash suppressor, bayonet lug
Berreta 9mm 92FS
S&W 686 2 ½ “ snub nose 357 Magnum
Mossberg 12 gauge

Funny, my buddies and me were at a shooting range. Unknown to us, the next 5 lanes, there were about 20 sheriff trainees, trying out their stuffs. I was shooting my Bush Master, I decided to have some fun so I did not take aim at the target but pretty much line it up and pull the trigger as fast as I can. Emptied the whole 40 rnds very quick. The whole range was quite after my shoot. As I walked off my lane, one of the trainee asked the sheriff instructor “ We had to deal with that?!!!!”. Needless to say, they did not looked very friendly toward us .

Yes, I love my weapons. I had a FFL for over 20 years. Calif. Anti-gun legislature made it impossible for me to keep it. My gun list is way to large to post, but here are a few.
12 model 1911 .45's A1's through series 80.
6 Browning hi- powers
Every N frame S&W made various calibers
11 AR-15's various versions
23 M-1 Grarands (bought through CMP)
6 M1A"s - 2 Nat. Match
3 FN-FAL's
AK-47, SKS lost count
Plus a hundred our more other weapons including 15 or so shotguns.
I shot approx 1500 round a month, have a dillion progressive reloader.

My Guns:

Kimber Classic Custom .45 ACP with Gilmore red dot
Beretta 87 Target .22 with Match Dot
Hammerli Trailside .22 with Millett red dot
Browning Buckmark Bullseye Target .22 with Nihl grips
Smith & Wesson 360 Scandium in .357 magnum (carry gun)

Browning BT100 12 gauge trap gun
Ruger 10/22
Remington 597 with Burris target scope
Remington 870 12 gauge 20" with folding stock
Chinese SKS with fiberglass stock

Ski_freak, the reason you guys were getting lead kicked back at you is
that range needs to clean out their bullet trap. I am a member of a club
where the membership owns the range, and about once a year we have
to shovel and sift all the sand at the bottom of the backstop to get all
the lead out of it. If we let it get too bad it will start doing what you
guys experienced.

I have some too but would love to get some more.

Right now I have a few with me, hard to carry all when moving in the military.
So i have a few with me and the rest are with Family, we collect a bit together and store most of them in a big safe where we all can get. Law Enforcement familys and military familys, got to love em.

I have old (classic) stuff to mostly because my dad did smithing as his hobby. He bought war surplus rifles thru the NRA back in the 50's when you could get a perfect example for 5 bucks and made sporters out them for his own use and also built rifles for me and my brother. Some are pretty interesting and collectable so I will hang on to them as its difficult to deal them nowadays.

1. Is an 1917 Winchester Enfield 30-06 (1934) with a bear cub (before it was redfield), 2 3/4x scope with original barrel and military trigger. A real pre 64 Winchester if there ever was one. These rifles were used by the US in 2 wars and this is the model that Alvin York carried when he shot all those Germans. This was his first project and the rifle he carried hunting whitetails and moose. A real tack driver.

2. An Arisaka japanese military rifle from WWII. Rechambered to .308 Winchester and a scope added for my brother to carry.

3. A Model 23 Mauser 98 made in Poland in 1934. Rechambered to .257 Roberts with a Redfield 4-12X variable on top, Shilen barrel and Timney trigger. My dad added a section of rosewood in the stock forepiece as homage to my guitar playing interest. I can easily put a round into a 5 inch circle at 250 yds all day long with this gun.

All rifles had new Monte Carlo style stocks to replace the military ones and my dads benchmark, which was the indian's head cut from a nickel and inlayed into the magazine foreplate. Really cool and unique!

Other are:
S-42 Luger made before the forced labor of wartime.
1903 .32ACP "pocket pistol" with MOP grips engraved at the Colt engraving shop.
3 screw Ruger .22 single action.
740 Remington semi-auto 30-06
Model 3 Savage .22 rifle which I carried from age 8 on when growing up.

Can't shoot em anymore though. The range we had is gone and I don't know the rules about transporting anymore. Probably get in trouble 5 miles from my house nowadays. Love the smell of smokeless though.

I am new to the forum. Hello to everyong. I have had my Titan since April. The first topic I noticed was this one about firearms. That's one of my main reasons for buying the Titan, lots of room to carry everything to the range! This is a list of the guns that I shoot on a regular basis:
Beretta Teknys 12 ga
Beretta S686 Sporting 12 ga
Remington 1100 12 ga
Kimber Custom Classic 45 acp
Kimber Stainless Target 40 S&W
Springfield XD40 40 S&W
H&K P7M8 9mm
S&W 686 357 mag
S&W Model 1988 45acp
S&W Model 57 41 mag
Rock River AR15 223
Mauser 98K 8mm

Between shooting and motorcycling I stay pretty busy.

I like plinking around in my free time. I didn't own a single firearm 'till about 3 years ago, now I can't get enough of 'em.

I only have two handguns, a stainless 1991A1 new rollmark Colt Commander and a Glock 19. Even though I suck, I like to think of myself more as a rifleman than a pistolero. Been cobbling together an AR15 with a Bushmaster lower and their two stage trigger with a Rock River Arms CMP service rifle upper so I can give NRA high power service rifle competition a shot. Gun show's rolling into town towards the end of this month, gotta pick up some magazines and a sling.

New Mexico state laws are great for carrying firearms on your persons, or in your vehicle.

Here's a nice pic that illustrates...

I'm not much into hand guns, although I do own a few, I keep a Rossi 357mag in the door side pocket of my Titan. "yes I do have a permit". and a cheapo 25 cal. semi auto as my carry gun.
But I really love rifles, always want somthing new or different. I'm lucky I guess because I live out far enough that I can shoot till my heart's content. I have a 100yd range in the back 40.
My collection includes:
Winchester 9522, Ruger 7722, Browning Belgium made 22 semi auto,Ithaca Mdl. 37 featherlight pump 16 gauge, Remington 870 12 gauge,Rem 700 bdl 30-06, Rem 700 bdl stainless synthetic 270, Rem 700 bdl 7mm mag stainless synthetic, Rem mdl 7 260, Thompson Center 50 cal. Thunder Hawk Muzzle loader, Remington Mdl 700 stainless synthetic 50 cal. Muzzle Loader and the token "assault rifle" a chinese SKS it's not much to look at but it is a hoot to shoot, only reason I bought it was because they "read Dems" were trying to outlaw them.

Is that a 19? I would advise you to not make any sudden moves if you
happen to get pulled over. When I worked in Newport News, they had
open carry laws there, but some of the cops still get a little nervous
when they see one in plain sight. I would prefer that they not see it at
all until I notified them about my permit. I also wonder if they can tell
if you may be packing when they run your plate. The last time I got
pulled over, the officer acted like he didn't want to approach my window.
However, he was very nice and just checked my license and told me to
watch my speed.

John, I hope you remove that nice weapon when you exit the vehicle.
Lon, how do you act when you see a hog leg out in the open?
