This was my first hunt ever. A buddy of mine has a ranch right outside of Goliad Texas and we were there this weekend. Within about 20 minutes of daybreak I saw this guy just eating by the feeder. It was a good shot @ 80 yards with my 30-30 Marlin. He ran about 30-40 yards and that was all she wrote. It was a smaller 10 point.

Elk season should be over for most. Anyone get anything? CoCamper?
Hot and dry during 3rd season in our area, and no animals around. Heard the fewest shots I've ever heard on opening morning... Was pretty discouraging, but we had a good camping trip!!

Spent 7 days in NW Middle Georgia first week of November. Missed the heavy chasing by 1 day. Had howling winds, rain and cold. One of the property owners took a nice 155 b&C 13pt and my buddy also an owner took a 125 B&C 10pt. I seen a lot of nice bucks but none that are club shooters. the last day of the hunt I took my allowable limit of slick heads and filled my freezer.

10pt on your first hunt, your ruined now. Your suppose to start out small with spikes and work your way. Then after 8-10 years of hard hunting you allowed to take a 10pt. You have to pay your dues man!!!
J/K nice shooting!! He will eat good!

I was up in GMU 161 for 2nd Rifle season. I saw one buck. I flushed a bunch of game out of the woods according to the guys I hunted with, but I never saw any.
My favorite hunting position:
There were Moose in the area somewhere.

I had heard a couple of years ago that DOW was trying to transplant more moose into the Rockies to get a hunting population...
There were signs and billboards posted all over the place to encourage hunters to double check their target. Man, if you can tell the difference between a moose and an elk/deer there's something wrong with your vision. Then again, there's always some moron that shoots a cow (as in heifer, or something that goes Mooo and ends up as hamburger).

I know what ya mean... I grew up in the sticks in Michigan, and my rancher neighbor would spray paint his cows and horses with yellow paint, "COW" and "HORSE", day before the opener... He did it for a couple years because his livestock were being shot by itchy fingered idiots...
