The hogs had tore this place up as you can tell in the pic from all the ground around me. This one went about 200# with a fairly nice set of cutters on him. Hope everyone is having a safe season!!!

Muzzleloader Buck

Hi everyone, This buck was harvested in 1991 with a Muzzleloader in Utah. It scores 184 4/8 B&C, and was the #2 Muzzleloader Mule Deer in the first edition of the Longhunter Society record book. He is a 6x6 (Western count) with a 26" inside spread, and a 33 3/4" outside spread.
I will probably never have a chance at another one like this, but that's okay, I kinda like bird hunting now anyway. So here is a pic of a great hunting memory, and another one of the litter that I get to pick out my French Brittany puppy from. Hope to make more memories with my new hunting buddy.

No big "brag" bucks, but do have a picture of my 13 year old grandson's first deer harvested, and similar to ghog, a picture of one of the many ferrel hogs harvested by my future son-in-law. He's on left, me next to him and my grandkids fill out the rest of the crew. Had to take this one as you can clearly see, he was drinking all of our beer!

Nice deer, looks like he made a perfect shot. That's a big hog if ya ask me.
I'm kinda partial to those long necks myself.

Yeap. He shot the deer at 140 yards (using a 30-06)- dropped him in his tracks. I had forgotten how excited a young man gets on his first deer. He later shot a big doe and insisted we fry up some of the backstrap in celebration. Nice kid even if I do say so myself.

The hog is estimated to be in the 300 lb range. These pictures were taken on my ranch in central Texas (San Saba County) over the Christmas/New Years holidays. We are trying to improve the quality of bucks, so for the time being, we are harvesting all hogs, very mature bucks, spikes and does only-- in the two years we've owned this ranch, we are already seeing much better bucks. This hog was the 12th killed this season (4 boars, 6 sows and 2 shoats). All but the boars were butchered for either adding to venison sausage or for grilling.
