Merry Christmas.Charlie
I'll have to say that it is refreshing to see a positive and realistic view of hunting from a "non hunter's" perspective.
You are a wise man Charlie PHOBEISIS.
Most of todays hunters are more intune with nature than the average non-hunter. We see for ourselves the ways of Mother Nature, and unfortunatly sometimes Ma Nature can be very cruel.
I hope that you and your family had a great Christmas Charlie, and I hope that you and yours have a better year in 2006.

I just love it when people are alright killing some animals, but not others. It is the same people that will find a abused dog and nurse it back to health, only to kill a healthy one because it wasn't adopted. This thread got real long since last time I looked at it.

Don't you know, it's only wrong to kill cute or majestic animals!!!

I have absolutely no problem with nursing a dog back to health if it's wanted as a companion or working animal. And I have no problem with "destroying" stray or undesirable dogs living miserable lives in a cage somewhere. I believe God gave us dominion over the animals of the Earth. We can shoot 'em or domesticate them- but hunting can become excessive and wasteful.

I totally agree with all you have said.
Sad but true but all so called "hunters" are not true "sportsman." A few bad apples can spoil the bunch for sure. Some people kill large numbers of game animals just for bragging rights with no intention of utilizing the meat. In my opinion this is just wrong.
I also agree with helomech's statement anything can become excessive and wasteful."

I don't have a problem with someone having a vet nurse their companinon back to health. But when someone finds a stray that is in horrible shape with no one wanting it and they nurse it back to health only to kill it later because it wasn't adopted is ridiculous.
