nytitan if you do any kind of hunting and read some articles on cat hunting that is how you hunt them. Also hunting for meat is great i do it here in pa but sometimes you have to hunt for managment of the species purpose. And the idea that the dogs is not hunting what do you say about coon hunting they use dogs? just my two cents!

Tell that to these people................................
Fact is, if it weren't for hunting, Mountain Lion attacks would be far greater.
Mountain lion victim upgraded to fair condition
Woman, 30, is expected to survive, doctors say
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- The victim of a mountain lion attack has improved, a hospital spokesman said Saturday.
Anne Hjelle, 30, has been upgraded from serious condition to fair, the spokesman said. Doctors said they expect Hjelle to survive, but further information on the woman's condition was not available.
Hjelle was bicycling Thursday with a friend on a wilderness trail in Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park in Orange County when a 110-pound mountain lion pounced on her, dragging her by her head into the brush.
Debbie Nichols said the lion dragged her friend 100 yards while she tried to fight off the animal. She said it bit Hjelle on her helmet, face and neck.
Hjelle was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.
A second attack victim died from his wounds. The body of Mark Jeffrey Reynolds, 35, an account executive for a sports marketing company in Anaheim, California, was discovered as police searched for the mountain lion.
Officers hunted and killed the mountain lion.
A necropsy on the 2-year-old male cat is expected to be complete Tuesday, according to California Fish and Game. DNA tests were being performed on the contents of its stomach to determine if it was involved in both attacks.
The fatal attack marked the sixth time in more than 110 years of record-keeping that a mountain lion has killed a human in California. There have been 41 fatal attacks nationwide, 10 of those since 1990.
A second mountain lion in the area was struck by a car and killed. Authorities said tests would also be performed on that animal.

fact of the matter is that they have lived there alot longer than us it is there territory if we build there these things will happen unfortunate but true, but i guess it would be good idea to just kill them all off so we can enjoy scenery oh well

You are correct, They have lived there for a long time and it is unfortunate that we as humans intrude into their territory. But that is human nature I suppose
I certainly would'nt want "all" of them killed, and I don't think that they all should be killed, I think the wildlife Managers in the Canadian Provinces and in the states that allow Mountain Lion hunting are doing a great job. It is when people who don't understand the dynamics in managing our wildlife populations step in and try to manage these populations with a Disney type of mentality. I certainly believe that with the proper management we can coexist with "all" wildlife.
I have seen one sneaking into the bushes near my kid's bus stop. They hunted down another one using a pack of dogs a few miles from my house after it killed a horse. They are beautiful animals, but I don't want my kid or my dog to be in the food chain.
I unserstand your feeling and respect them, but have you ever trained a dog or watched him/her work the game? That is a pretty beautiful sight to me, watch a dog do what he was trained and bred for.
