I know there are alot of Louisiana members here and was wondering what the speck and red fishing is like around the Slidell area since the storm.I live in AL and until this year I would normally make a trip once a month to fish the Biloxi and LA marsh,I think I would rather do that than eat when the fishings good,I have also been to Port Sulfer a few times but heard it was a mess so I think Ill stick to Slidell for now.
We are killing them out of Buris right now...All the reds, flounder and specs you can catch and nice sized as well. Haven't fished the slidell marsh but heard they are smokin the specks on lake ponch. The fishing is incredible right now, you really need to get out there.
I talked to a buddy of mine and he said the lower lafourche, terrebonne area is really plentiful. Especially down LA1, in and around the Grand Isle area, Leeville, Port Fourchon...etc. You don't even need a boat right now. People are hauling in monster reds off the sides of the road, and you could easily limit out on specks fishing the caminada bay or gulf side of Grand Isle.
