Re: Squrriel Season

those are some nice ones man. Just got back from the woods myself seen the biggest buck of my life and couldn't get a shot. I miss squirrel hunting but it coincides with archery season here in pa. I have seen alot of them while in the stand.

Re: Squrriel Season

Yea I remember squrriel hunting in my younger days. My dad then made squrriel stew, real good too, but when your chewing on that good stew watch out for that missed buck shot

Just got in awhile ago myself, man that wind was howling. I only saw one deer which was a young buck, a couple of squirrels and a groundhog. The buck was coming down the trail that went 20 yds. from my stand but lucky for him the wind shifted and he winded me. I don't usually shoot young bucks on my home property but since it has been so slow and my freezer is almost empty I was going to try a shot. Oh well that's bowhunting.

Re: Squrriel Season

That is one thing I miss about living in New England. I always told myself that every squirrel I ate was one closer to a quiet turkey and deer season. Nothing worse than trying to wait patiently for a deer when old grey sees you and let's everyone around know you are there.

I don't shoot animals for fun I shoot them because they are delicious. There was however a time way back, during turkey season, where I was calling in a nice tom and old grey showed up out of nowhere and started yelling up a storm. Tom left and I calmly vaporized grey with 2 1/8oz of 4x6 ten feet away. Like I said quieter next year.

Keep your boy out there in the woods where real life happens!
