Montana hunt

I'm just back from a great bird hunt in Montana....was gone for 10 days...we had stellar dog work and all but 3 roosters were shot over points by my wirehair and my buddy's 3 shorthairs.....mostly pheasants....sharptails and huns were few and very skittish...it was a great time...got to see alot of our great nation on the ride too....I'm trying to post some pics here....I'll try again...lol

well, I figured out how to do it but my pics are too big...now I have to figure out how to downsize them....oh boy.....

Re: Montana hunt

Assuming your on Windows

1) save the image on your pc.
2) open it with Paint utility. (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accesorries -> Paint)
3) In Paint, go to Image -> Stretch and Skew, and then resize the image
4) Save the resized image under a different name. (File -> Save As)
5) post the original image link as a link,
6) attach the resized image file to the message by uploading it as an attachment (must be small enough so that it fits the size requirement) and check "Embed picture in post" box

Re: Montana hunt

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I can see you found out the wind out west can be a bear when it's coming hard out of the northwest. We had temps around 16 degrees and 30 mph NW winds on our recent duck hunt, which made the windstopper in my clothing worth its weight in gold.

We'll be in Kansas in mid December going after late season roosters and waterfowl. Numbers are supposedly up there so we feel good about our chances this year.

One good way I've found to cook ditch parrots is to boil them, cut them into small pieces, and the mix them with boiled eggs, pickles, and mayo. Makes a great pheasant salad (similar to chicken salad) that I eat often at work for lunch.

Congrats on a good hunt.

Re: Montana hunt

thanks guys.....hey Pothole.....yes, WIND....is a constant out there it seems...

it was a steady 35mph the hole time we were there....one day it was over 40mph..... I was in Kansas 2 years ago in November...it was a good trip also....

talking about deer...we saw alot of mulies and whitetail in Montana also....we even saw a few BIG bucks...2 huge whitetails inperticular...wish I had a rifle with me...lol, although we probably could have killed them with a shotgun....they were pretty close..We also saw ALOT of pronghorn...cool to see all those different critters out there. The one critter I could have gone without seeing was a big porcipine that my buddies two dogs got into a tussle with....requiring a 90 plus mile trip to the vet in North Dakota to get the dog knocked out to remove all the quills.....now its time to chase wood**** and ducks till my goose season opens.....then its game on!
