Because it is a challenge to shoot a nice deer, and I really enjoy it. It also puts great food on the table. And me and my boys enjoy hunting together. The gun was a Browning A-Bolt .30-06.

Nice work Helo. I see you were able to sneak in a shot of the Titan in the last pic.

Thanks, this is the biggest deer I have ever shot. He wasn't the one I was hoping to see, but good enough. I didn't even realize the titan was in the background. I would have washed it if I had.

Don't make much jerky, but love to make po-boys out of it. We also make some hamburgers, but most of it we make roasts. What kind of helicopters did you work on? Why did you stop working on them?

I don't like any euro-copter aircraft. I can't believe the military is buying them. I work on the EC-120 alot, and it is not a very good aircraft, I have worked on BO-105s, a-stars, twin stars and I haven't like any of them. They would have been better off going with the bell 427, or the new 429's are supposed to be coming out soon. I worked on the Ah-64A when I was in the military, and my wife worked on the AH-1's.

Re: First deer at my new place

So you dont like the eurocopter, when I was with the Washington DC police we had 2 new A Stars. If I stayed on with DC I would be there, but my wife made us move to SC where I'm currently a cop here in Greenville. here in the south all law enforcement aviation units use surplus UH-1's and OH-58's. The new helicopter for Marine1 is the new EH101 or called US101.

Nice deer Helomech. I went last weekend a rounded up a big fat zero. Only thing with fur I saw was a rabbit. There's always next weekend! Where abouts in the state did you get him? I used to hunt out in Llano when I was still in TX. NC deer are way smaller than TX deer!

Re: First deer at my new place

Now that's what i'm talkin about!!!!!

Congrats to ya!!! Very nice deer and by the looks of it a great shot.

For those who don't think that hunting is a challenge.....try it some time you might just be surprised and end up having a great new pastime. You don't even have to kill anything for it to be a succesful hunt, but it sure is icing on the cake.

Nice deer. Just had some venison steaks for dinner last night. Can't wait to get back in the woods here in Maryland. Day after Thanksgiving firearm season opens up. I'll be ready.
