Just got back from my second trip to the mid-west this year. Fortunately we missed the early blizzard that hammered MO and southeastern KS, but we had to deal with the above normal temps that followed the early season cold snaps. Some parts of the mid-west hasn't seen measurable rainfall since the first of October, which made scenting conditions horrible for our dogs, but we survived and actually had a pretty good hunt. In addition to the snow geese we shot soon after we arrived, we picked up a few mallards and a few ditch parrots. Here's a sampling of our bag...

River hunt

Mixed bag of mallards and roosters.

Some of the crew we hunted with.

A few snow geese we picked up (the limit, by the way, is 20 per hunter)
Bear in mind these are late season roosters that have survived the opening week slaughter. Coupled with the dry conditions and the lack of wind, just harvesting a rooster is quite an accomplishment this time of year.
