Re: Any bowhunters out there? Any Stories? Whatcha shootin'?

I shoot a Browning Rage II w/ Muzzy 100 grain tips. Nice starter bow. I have only flung one arrow while hunting. Shot under a 200 pound hog. I got so excited I used the wrong pin. I've drawn back on nice buck but he would not turn for me.

i bought a mathews switchback xd, with 26 1/2 dl and 60lbs of dw... and man, after i finally got it all tuned in right, i was showing a few of my buddies how accurate i was with it.. i handed it to a dude (who i didn't know was a drunken ba$t@rd at the time) and guess what he decided to do? a dry fire.... i could have killed him! and of course, a friday afternoon before memorial, labor (whichever was the last three day weekend) day, and my local store was closed for the 3 day weekend... i had the bow a total of 2 weeks and had to have it restrun already.. i was furrrrious! but other than that, i love it! especially for being my first bow!

Im new to hunting. I just started last year. I was hooked instantly on my turkey hunt. I love bowhunting. It just seems like it doesn't get more game than that. I got myself a PSE Triton which I love. Its so small and lightweight.

Re: Any bowhunters out there? Any Stories? Whatcha shootin'?

Man you guys have some nice bows for sure. Well I shoot a Bear Paw that I got from Sports Authority. I have a great led site and a whisker biscuit rest. I shoot carbon fury 6075 arrows from Outdoorworld cut down to 29 1/2 inches at 62 pound draw weight with a 29 inch draw length. First year hunting with a bow was this season that started on the 15th. Well that afternoon I put my first ever arrow into a spike buck about 25 yards away. 10 minutes later a doe jumps out in front of my stand at 15 yards. i let one fly but it hit a small branch and went over her back. She jump 5 yards and then came right back around. My third arrow ever while hunting with a bow found it's mark. Two deer inside of 10 minutes from each other on opening day of my first ever hunt with a bow. I'm hooked.....

Im shooting a Diamond Black Ice. Im using a drop away arrow rest and this thing is super smooth. My cousin is a bow collector. He has a parker Pheonix, Parker Buck Hunter, Bear Truth, and a Mathews Outback. Not to be partial but it blows them away. I also IBO at 303 fully equipped. 28 inch Easton Epics with wasp 100 gr. and the drop away.

Have you had the chance to do any 3-D shoots yet? If not get into it. Is it addictive? Oh hell yes. Can it help with hunting? Without a doubt...it DEFINITELY helps you become better at your depth perception in judging distance. If you ever have the chance to do this I think you will get a kick out of the 3-D McKenzie turkey target? A designated killzone on this target is it's ***. lol No kidding.

Re: Any bowhunters out there? Any Stories? Whatcha shootin'?

Shot my first deer in 1971 with Ben Pearson recurve. The new compounds today are like killing with a rifle. I am trying to go back to my old Ben Pearson but it is really showing its age. I have an all wood Martin Warthog Magnum compound that I bought in 80 but my son wants to keep for keepsake. Guess me and old Ben Pearson will get one this year.
