Ya killin' me here you know!

Illinois is stretch for me living here in NC like I do just to attend a waterfowl festival. I would love to have made the trip, but with gas $3.10+ a gallon here in NC, plus the hunting trips I have planned later this year, you'll have to have fun without me.

Be sure to post up and tell me (us) what we missed by not being there.

By the way, I'm having some of calls of my own made up by a good friend of mine here in NC. As a matter of fact, I even supplied the wood cut from an old Sassafras tree grown at my grandfather's house. My buddy is making me a timber call (for our swamps down here) and a short reed goose call. I'll post some pics when I get them back. Here is his web site if you want to check out his stuff: Waccamaw Calls

At least you have the Southeastern Waterfowl Festival to go to in Charleston - we don't have anything up this way that even comes close. We once had a hunting and fishing show that came to Charlotte for a couple of years, but poor attendance sent them packing. DU's big event out in Memphis is a 11 hour drive, and the Easton Waterfowl Festival is 8 hours from here. Either way, it's a haul for me to go to any of the big waterfowl events around this part of the country.
