Beretta Xtrema2

Anybody own one? I want one, but it might take a while to scrape together the $1200-$1600 to buy one.

Been shooting my dad's Benellis lately. They're bad, but I'm not sure if they're as bad as the Xtrema.

Re: Beretta Xtrema2

Sounds like an awful lot for what you get.

I have a nice old fashioned single round break breech ($100), suits me just fine.
The key is that you can't miss...

Re: Beretta Xtrema2

I want to go Dove hunting in Argentina....just don't think the single shot would do the trick. I also think that, in general, you get what you pay for. It is a little pricey though. Something to work for I guess...

Re: Beretta Xtrema2

I am not up on all the new shotguns but I say this, buy a damn good SxS and never have to worry about a Jam or how fast it cycles again. Get good, damn good with it and you will put those semi autos down. And yes I have one or two of each but when it comes to fly time I am carrieing my SxS 12g everytime. Of course I started on a SxS when I was 14 so I am partial. But hell yeah if you want it buy it, I am sure it will make you happy and that is what is realy important.

Re: Beretta Xtrema2

Bennelli------inertia operated always faithful

Beretta------gas operated, jams if gas rings become dirty

Always, go with the Bennelli in my opinion....had both....it really sucks the big one to get out in the field and have your gun stop working because it got dirty from shooting....NEVER had it happen to my Bennelli Super 90 M1 Feild....4 years now never a jam.

Re: Beretta Xtrema2

Don't own one, but a few of my friends have the Xtrema 2 so I've shot them a few times. I must say they're pretty impressive guns! Wish i could afford one, but for now looks like I'll be stuck with my old Beretta's.... The Benelli Super Nova's are pretty sweet too! You should check them out, if you haven't already.

Re: Beretta Xtrema2

My brother has a Benelli pump for turkey hunting. My dad has the Franchi pump which is the same as Benelli, only cheaper. He's also got a 12 ga. Benelli Super Black Eagle and 20 ga. Benelli Montefeltro, which we've been using for bird hunting. The Benellis are hard to beat. Never jam and cycle fast, smooth and clean.

As for the Beretta's gas operated mechanism jamming, I thought it was pretty reliable. They showed a guy pull one out of a pond, load it up and fire away. Nothing is more annoying than a gun jamming mid hunt. Happened to my dad's old Browning the other day. It's actually probably still jammed....
