Duck hunting in AZ

So Friday is opening Duck season, I was wondering who was going out? I have only hunted Roosevelt for duck here in AZ and I wanted to know where the hot spots are. If you care to share. I grew up hunting in Oregon and would love to find some spots here in AZ that could compare. I have a year old Wire Haired Griffon pup who is dying to get out I'd love to let him swim. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Duck hunting in AZ

Ok, so i know we're in the desert but there's got to be some spots for duck hunting around here. Or is it that they are so few and far between that those that no don't want everyone else in their spots? I don't blame you for not sharing. I haven't been able to get out yet, has anyone else. Pics?

Re: Duck hunting in AZ

I haven't done much duck hunting but I do hunt other things and when Im out there I see ducks on the cow ponds. Those are man made watering holes for cattle etc.. If you can find an area that has several of those around you will likely find ducks on them. The only place I ever hunted duck was in Picacho, there is a small lake there, at least it was there 30 years ago. Good luck.
