That is the problem, bad guys are not made of plywood. A .410 might make lots of splinters but it won't penetrate very deep into soft tissue. again check out the site, it is very informative.

I won a Remington model 700 in a gun raffel and asked the gun shop if I could trade the rifle on something else(have rifles). The "Judge" was $380.00 at my local gun shop. I've seen it in the upper $400's online

It's a lot of fun at the range and i also keep it on my hip during bow season as a just in case.
It shoots Long Colt 45's and really packs a wallop.
After you shoot it you'll say "I would not want to get hit with this".
I get this stupid grin when I fire it....Similar to when I floor my Titan. Hehehehe

Re: Where do you keep your gun? What kind? Any tips?

I have two, Sig P220 .45 W/fed hollow points 230 grain, and HK compact UHP .40 cal w/fed hollow points. When not on my person, locked in a steel top load gun locker anchored under my back seat. Nice for days at the beach or when carrying a gun cannot work. Gun locker is keypad, about $40.

Will it accept a .410 slug or shot only?

Any 2 3/4 .410 shell. Slug, buck shot, bird shot. My dad has one, and I really like it. But the prices have went way up on them in the last couple of months. I think they are now well into the 400 range, and some into the 500 range

Wow, I would have never guessed this many people would have responded that they even have a gun in their truck. I’m not anit-gun by any means but that’s a little scary. Does everyone have a concealed weapons permit? I’m just guessing you can’t legally be driving around with a gun.

In AL you can drive around, walk around whatever with a gun. You only have to have a permit to conceal/carry. Have you ever went into a gun shop and just watched the activity......now thats scary.

It is technically illegal to keep a gun in your truck in texas without a concealed carry permit unless you are traveling. But I don't care I will carry my gun, and no cop is going to get permission to look in my vehicle.

Any 410 round...Just as HELOMECH mentioned..Which is nice cause I can use #6 shot when I go camping/ fishing if I come across snakes or unwanted critters.
I prefer the 3 ball round though for personal protection.

I load the first 2 as 410 then the next 3, 45 Long Colt (target moving closer...more knockdown)

Might wanna change that rotation around. Ever seen a crazy crackhead take a 9mm and keep coming??? It wouldnt do much good if you just made the poor feller mad at you. I like those one shot deals myself.

I'm kinda surprised too. I wanted to start something a little different to see if others found any good solutions to keeping their gun handy.

I carry my gun in case my life is ever in danger of being taken... Not to be some hardguy or showoff. It's to make sure that in any situation I may find myself in that is life threatening, I am able to get back home to my wife and daughter.

I pray that I never have to pull it out.
