I keep my new Taurus "Judge" in my center console loaded and holstered. The "Judge" is a 5 shot revolver 45 cal. long colt OR a 410 capable pistol. They say it's one of the best personal protection weapons because of it's short range knockdown power and 2.5 in. rifled barrel delivers accurate shot from 410 buchshot.....
What you got, where do you keep it, and do you have any tips?

The center console is a good place to conceal in your truck. But, DO NOT USE 410 SHOTof any kind for self defense unless you are killing snakes!!! Load with .45 hp to get the job done.
Here is a link to a good website to educate your self on different loads for self defense.

An oldie but a goodie. Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum 6 shot snub nose revolver. Dont have to worry about knockdown power. I have the column shift with the center console and that is where it resides.

Kel-tec P3AT stays with me at all times. Keep it in my front pocket with a custom made leather pocket holster unless I'm in the truck, then it resides in between the driver's seat and bench seat for easy, fast access. I have other guns, but I value them too much to leave alone in my truck.

I hope you have better luck with your Kel-tec than i did!!! i was better off keeping the bullets out so i could throw them at something. It jammed more than any gun i have ever owned!!! Nice small package, handy, inexpensive. But i just couldnt trust my life with it. Pinched my finger when i fired. After 7-8 yds i was basiclly shooting fish in the sea.

Those old wheel guns will never jam on ya...If ya can't do it with 5-8 rounds, run like hell !!!!
If you are gonna get a semi-auto spend the $$$ and get a nice one...The baretta in the pic with the 30 rd. mag. has had over 10,000 rounds shot through it with 0-zero jams......Best firearm i've owned !!!
I had a kel-tec .32 that jammed on me several times....

Yeah, I am waiting on my S&W .357 scandium revolver now. The other ones i own arent really a carry/conceal type.
I was looking at the Beretta 92 is it? I like those extended clips. Nothing gets attention at the firing range like 30 rds out of a pistol!!!
Everyone hyped the Kel-tec up talking about "its the cops back up weapon". I hate it for them.
You got a nice collection papa.....have seen it in other threads.
Re: Where do you keep your gun? What kind? Any tips?
I keep either my sig 229, or my taurus pt-140 in the little tray between the drivers seat and the center console.
My wife has a kal-tec p-32, and it has been a great little gun. It has never jammed and she has had it for over 5 years. It has shoot many rounds, I am actually thinking about getting one for concealed carry.

I looked at the site, and I still think that a .410 with buckshot shot at normal self defense distance will really screw someone up. I know that I would not want to be on the receiving end of that. I would feel very comfortable using it for self defense, if the range was close. I think the average self defense shooting takes place at less than 7 feet. ( I don't remember the number exactly, but I am pretty sure it is right)
