I bought one of those solar powered motion lights from lowes for 70 bucks, and tonight was the first night I saw one under it. He was 200 yards from my house, and I shot him right behind the ear. He fell and never moved again. Any way here are some pics.
I think my scale may be wrong, it says he only weighs 154lbs. I weigh 165, and he looks heavier than me. I will try to hang on the scale tomorrow to see if it is correct.

They got some at the store near my house that are over 400lbs. The biggest one I have seen was probably around 250lbs.
Yeah, sounds about the same as down here. We get a few 400+lb hogs, but for the most part they're 150-250lbs. 400lbs is rediculousy huge though, I'd run! lol Here's a pic of my buddy Steve with his 450 somethin lb "Big Nasty" caught by Dozer, the dog in the pic. They had to shoot it though because it would just run, dog latched on and everything everytime they tried to leg it. Then it got tired and started trying to kill the dog, so they ended up shooting it before Doze got hurt. There's no way I would attempt to leg this creature! lol

Thanks, it has been a while since I was able to get one. I have been seeing them on my game camera, but they were avoiding my trap and not coming around when I could shoot them.
You think a 17HMR could take one down?
It has the range.
When they are in my trap I use a .22lr, but at any range, more than 100 feet I don't think it would penetrate enough. Up close in the head yes it will lay them down fast. My son shot the last one in the cage with a .22.
This is about the biggest I want to kill, I don't kill it if I won't eat it. I don't know if I would want to eat them any bigger than that.
Yeah I completely agree with that, I don't really hogs hunt that much. I used to hunt with dogs, but I just don't really like to go shoot pigs unless I want the meat. It's pretty bad down here, alot the people with cows see nothing wrong with just slaying the pigs and leaving em for the buzzards because the root up the pastures. I can't stand it, because people beg them to hunt the hogs on their land but instead they just kill em and leave em. Haha I pretty much cured all the smaller pigs around my house from rooting up our pasture by letting the ol dog chew on those ears a few times. lol Nice kill though! Did your other son get anything yet, I know you said you were going to try to help him get a deer?
