Talking First Kill in the new titan

This is my first kill in the new Titan and it was a great one. My buddy and I each killed a coati. Truly a great day.

Re: First Kill in the new titan

I had to google that thing. I've never seen or heard of one!!! Is it considered a varmint or are there seasonal times to hunt them? Do you eat them or what? What makes one hunt these?

Re: First Kill in the new titan

Ok here is some clarification. I am in southern AZ and there is a season on Coati's here. It runs from sept. thru March. You can kill one a year. They are part of the raccoon family. They are a pretty nocturnal animal but occasionally you do see them during the day. They are pretty abundant in the southern part of the state and in fact when I killed this one there were about 30 of them together. It looked like something out off the Discovery channel (kinda reminded me of one of those scenes of when a lion raids the baboon herd). I actually shot this one with my .222 . I agree they are a really cool animal and i would love to have one as a pet, but at the same time I have always wanted to kill one and am going to have it mounted. Hope that clears it up for you all.

Re: First Kill in the new titan

You need to eat that critter, it's only right. Probably taste like coon, a little stringy and greasy would be my guess.

Might make a cool hat too.

.222 huh, it must be a dangerous critter

Re: First Kill in the new titan

We had 3 coatis, they are pretty neat as pets as long as you get them declawed. There claws are huge, and when they are trying to play with you the claws hurt. Some of them are real sweet, and other can be a pain in the a55. They are very smart, and love water. They will run the bath water if you are not careful, and will open lots of things. Baby locks are neccesarry if you keep them in your house.

The one in the pics name is coco, and he was very lovable. He always wanted to climb you and play with you, but he was not declawed and it hurt.
