If it had magnification, it wouldn't really matter either, but this one is 1x.

Also, the TLR/2 is a laser and flashlight and both the optic and laser are easily removed or added, as needed. Both are sighted in perfectly though.

Yeah I own several TLR's......just seems that it would be less cumbersome on the side or bottom. Haven't ever seen anyone mount one like that. Interesting.

If on the side, it makes the gun wider and bulky, and also awkward to control. If underneath, if I use my other hand, it would get in the way there too... this is the best option.

I grew uo on AR's and something I never knew until my little jarhead brother showed me: You can drop the lower guard on the trigger by pushing the spring loaded forward detent.....allowing the user to fire with mittens on in cold weather environs. I was too busy sniping snapping turtles to notice that part.

Putting a Leapers scope on an AR makes the baby Jesus cry.

ARs love ACOGs. My Bushmaster M4:

Nice Bushmaster there.

I love my TA31F w/ BAC and kill flash... I have that with an ARMS #40L (rear flip-up sight) on my Colt LE6920 w/ Lauer Custom lower receiver (mil-spec pins, no DIAS block, etc.).

Optic and laser/light make it a bit over the top, price-wise...

That's hawt but I agree you're blocking the view through your optic.

My GTFO of my house "handgun":

PLR 16 topped with an Eotech 512 accompanied by a Streamlight TLR-2 light/laser with pressure switch.

I think this is a pretty good link to explain all the finer points:

Then you don't understand how the optics, such as your EOTech, work.

I had a picture of my .223 pistol, but imageshack's system cannot display it anymore... maybe it was corrupted on their server.

AMEN!

ACOG <<< "fap, fap, fap, fap...."

Definitley an A++ optic, but I can't find one for less than $650 and that's a dang sweet deal. My little brother has one issued for his FN M4....I wish he would "lose" it my way.

Re: AR-15- Bushmaster or Colt?

ACOGs have definately gone up in price over the past couple years... I remember when I bought mine I found one for $100 cheaper the next week... DOH! should have bought that one too! Its a kick *** optic, especially if you have a BAC model (the more expensive ones).

I remember the TA01NSN being about $650 at local gun shows, but that was years ago. No sure what that model goes for now.

Many places give military discounts.

I have the TA01NSN on my Bushmaster......havent even fired it yet. It replaced a EOTECH 552 which I liked, but wanted some magnification.

I think I paid around $799.00 for my TA01NSN.

Re: AR-15- Bushmaster or Colt?

I personally like the M-4 Carbines over the AR-15 or M16. If H&K ever decided to make a 416 for consumers I would be first in line.

No sir I understand them just fine. I imagine you have to keep both eyes open to see with your trijicon site. I can shoot with one or both eyes, depending on the distance of the target I'm engaging.

Well as of right now I'm really torn between ROLEX's SW rig eith the scope and Energizers .22 cal.

I really like the idea of being able to shoot distances with the AR but what a cool plinker the .22 cal is.

I am really glad I asked my Titan Brothers in Arms cause I'm learning quite a bit about what's out there and the vast differences in price. This is a great forum.
