I am really glad I asked my Titan Brothers in Arms cause I'm learning quite a bit about what's out there and the vast differences in price. This is a great forum.

I am going to go home and take a few pics of the Bushmaster's I have for you to see as well.

Yeah the .22 kit's are fun and a little bit cheaper to buy ammo. SOme of those conversion kits are really picky as to what ammo you can run. You usually end up having to use premium loads that cost more. A .223/5.56 is a plinking gun anyway really. Just alot faster.

Re: AR-15- Bushmaster or Colt?

aren't m16s way heavier than ARs? AR is a civilian rifle and if that's what you need, which you probably shouldnt have any business with a full auto, then thats what u should get. the thing with strings attached i think is an FBI thing. it's just like a special list you are put on for owning one, just like silencers and owning tanks.
my dad's got a sweet colt with lots of goodies on it. paid 800 barely used from friend with mounted laser. check out your local gun show and get a slightly used one. its much cheaper and just as good as buying a new 1.

1. I already stated I use both eyes previously in this thread

2. Since its a 1x reflex sight, much like a red-dot, its intended to be used with both eyes, and can be completely covered. Same with an EOTech, for example. However, if you want to look through it, the TLR is really not that much in the way

3. Like I said before-- it comes off easily.

4. a 1x optic/red dot is not really intened for long range shooting

Re: AR-15- Bushmaster or Colt?

All AR's are parts guns so they are all basically the same. If it functions then it is good to go.

Noveske, Colt, and LMT are considered to be the best. Major manufacturers such as Armalite, Bushmaster, Rock River, S&W, and Stag are also recommended. For the most part, all AR's are pretty much the same, so buy whatever logo you like the best, the configuration you want, or whatever you get the best deal on. Only AR I myself would really stay away from is Olympic.

ACOGS

They suck because you just can't buy just one. Glass is addicting. I have a TA-11F and a TA-01NSN. Plan on picking up another, a TA33-8.

My Bushmaster 16" HBAR w/ TA01-NSN

My Noveske N4 Light Lowprofile w/ TA-11F

The way I see it, you buy a fancy expensive gun, you shouldn't buy a cheap $50 optic for it...

Re: AR-15- Bushmaster or Colt?

I have a bushmaster m-16 A4 with a 16" barrel and love it. Shoots just as accurate as my m-16 did in the military. Add the night vision scope and it is the perfect coyote gun. Picked mine up for $890 brand new at Cabela's out the door same day.

Re: AR-15- Bushmaster or Colt?

Here is my most recent family pic. Added another 10/22 with Tapco stock that is not in the pic. Planned purchased for this year is an AR-10 in with 22" barrel in a SASS configuration, a HK45, ACOG TA33, and another fine glass for my soon to be AR-10.
