Springfield XD9?

guys....looking for some advice if anyone owns any XD series Springfields....I've read alot of reviews on them and they seem to get favorable reviews....the only thing negative I've seen in print about them is they say the finish comes off easily..........Im wanting an XD9...just for a fun shooter..that if I had to use it would work as a personal defense piece too..I currently own a 1911 .45 and love the 1911's....the XD's seem to have some 1911ish features...more than say a Glock or Sig....and their alot cheaper...lol

So...let me know what you think ....THANKS....

Re: Springfield XD9?

Mine is about 3 years old. Goes lots of places with me. The finish on it is about as good as some others guns I've own. The only area that's very noticeable is the where the arrow is. That part protrude out a little more than the frame and get rub when putting in and taking out of the holster. It's a good gun, don't let the little things turn you away from it. All other handguns I've own does about the same thing after the same amount of time own.

Re: Springfield XD9?

You may also consider a S&W M&P (either full size or compact). I think there is a $50 rebate + 2 free mags on them right now. People seem to like them over the XD and Glocks.

Re: Springfield XD9?

Don't Buy It.................

They are worse than our trucks. LOL. I would suggest two. One in 9mm for range fun, and a .45 for protection. The .45 ammo is very pricey right now. Can't say enough good about them. The new ones are even going to come with a thumb safety, like your 1911.

Re: Springfield XD9?

thanks again for the info....can't wait to shoot one...they feel good!

wow....that sub looks tiny! lol

my girlfriend is afraid of my .45 so I'm hoping she may shoot the 9mm too.

$475 seems a bit steep for an XD9 used....don't you guys think? A local shop here has one used for sale....a new one is marked at $525....it seems like a high price.....

Re: Springfield XD9?

Yes I've seen them new for less than that. I paid 450 for mine new from a dealer in OR... no sales tax helps and also having a CWP to avoid the background check charge. You should be able to find a new one without the tactical kit for under five bills. The tactical kit and light you can buy seperate and save money too.

Re: Springfield XD9?

I wouldnt say "dont buy it".....but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. These things dont resale very well. I do like that you get a nice kit for the money you pay. No other gun offers the full kit like that.
