Re: cleaning another alligator

I had gator tail on a stick once at Musikfest... Tasted just like chicken although the consistency was a bit mushier than chicken. Wasn't bad. Just different.

Congrats to ya. Looks like a lot of fun.
I've eaten gator before, it's pretty darn tasty.

Re: cleaning another alligator

Ok.... dumb question.

So you catch them on hook with chicken, then do you reel 'em in and shoot them or what?

You tie a rope to the hook, and to the base of a tree. Then you let the chicken hang from a branch. The gator grabs the chicken and then the next day you come and check your sets. Grab the rope pull the gator to the surface and shoot him in the face, I like to use a .22LR.

I use a .40, sometimes you can use rod and reel lol, but we mostly use the chicken from branch method lol

Re: cleaning another alligator

thats cool, but it doesnt sound that exciting to catch them... maybe if you would wrestle them it would be better... I was also going to ask what do you do with the skin or the teeth ?

Re: cleaning another alligator

I have friends that like to wrestle them, smaller ones 3-6 footers. They're retarded though I would never do that. The meat is delicious.

I wish I still lived in LA. Lived in Slidell when I was a kid. Best food in the world IMO. Haven't had crawfish in years. I miss it.

I can hook you up with a alligator wrestling match if you would like. Just let me know and come down to Houma when I am working.
