cleaning another alligator

heres a couple pictures for the gator I killed this evening only got three tags left so three more gators then the season is over for me lol.... This one was a few inches shy of 9 ft...

Cool, I miss that. I alligator hunted for a couple years before I joined the Army. We used to kill hundreds each year.

damn hundreds, they only give us a certain number of tags a year so a person could only kill so many, lol..... yeap going again tomorrow and thats probably going to be the end of the season for me....then its teal and up coming duck then deer lol I love winter!

Yeah, I worked for a guy that owned lots of land. He got so many tags per so many acres. How did you catch them? With a hook and chicken?

They are very good to eat, and the biggest I have killed was around 15 feet.

Well we had him in a 14 foot boat, so his tail stuck out the back.

No, if I did I never noticed. It was just like any other job after a while.

You can cook it many ways, from fried, to a sauce picante, gumbo, or pretty much anything you would do with chicken or seafood. The meat is kind of like chicken and frog legs.

well yesterday said i had three tags left well today used them all, my 09' gator season has come to an end....killed a 10ft, 7.8ft, and a 6.5ft..... We sometimes use rod and reel, but mostly we use hook and chicken....the biggest i killed i would have to say would be a 12.9ft but it had a piece of its tail cut off so who knows how many inches was lost.... But its fun going gator-ing and they taste great......

Holy Crap...I hunt, but nothing like that up here in the Northeast...

It sounds like you use ( harvest) all you can out of a gator. Chicken huh? The gator gumbo sounds pretty good.

It would be a shame to kill a species that has been around a millions of years with out eatin some.

Got any claw or tooth necklaces. I have all my turkey spikes on a string, Gator spikes would be sick!!
