Anyway, back on the T....yeah, i'll post up some pics on here and see what kind of feed back i get. i noticed today when i wobbled out like an old man clutching my post surgery side, the fronts look like they have a spanner adjustment on the top and i also noticed i'm gonna need some upper control arms since they are making their mark on the coil bucket. i think that is gonna be the first priority before i break one. anyway, thanks for the info and feedback....i'm gonna see if i can make a post with pics and see what folks have to say. please take a look and chime in. oh, yeah....i am a bigger hammer kind of guy too....i can't stand paying someone to do what i can eventually figure out myself. take care man.

    Lee,
Sorry...i've been OOC for a little while. had to do some emergency internal mods.....yep, the ol' gallbladder had to get pulled. seems the rocks in my head fell down my body and lodged in my gallbladder. had a quarter size gall stone that had been a problem for over a year and finally couldn't take it anymore....one gallbladder attack too many.

i plan to simply get a set of 1.5" spacers on top of my Ranchos, and call it a day until I'm ready to go full-out on my DK LT with a diff swap, slight drop adapter bracket (To be Fabricated), Icons, a 3.73 regear, with a matching full floating rear axle (MIGHT end up being the dana-70 DRW axle from my F-350), Full 8-lug setup I've been scheming on for 2 years now. Without the tires, I'm looking at countless fab hours and some $6k at least for that setup, so, no wonder it's slow going right? I actually do plan to go full tank with my T eventually..lol

yeah, you have a minor lift/level. Hang your pics out there, there are several far more versed in suspensions than I am. I'm sort of a fly-by-night, beat-my-head-against-it-till-I-figure-it-out guy..lol What I am good at is getting out in the dirt and having a blast, and I was just relaying a misfortunate experience with the pro-comps. I've learned, that if you want to play hard, you have to pay more. But if you just want looks, you can do it cheap. Price can be offset with labor and brain-killing. I tend to do one-off mods that cost next to nothing but take forever. I like being outside the box, but when it comes to suspensions, that stuff seriously overpowers my fabrication skills.

(part 3 of 3) i am currently stationed in the virginia beach, va area so i usually head toward the mountains / hills of central or western va. i currently don't have a group or others to drag out riding with me so i have to be careful not to get too crazy out in the mud...don't want to get broke down 2 hours from home. Also, another reason i want to get my titan right and reliable without feeling like i am building an armor tank in the process. anyway, it was great hearing from you. i appreciate your knowledge and experience. thanks for sharing and look forward to learning more titan / off road stuff.

(part 2 of 3) There is that 1.5 inch difference which makes me this stock. This is my first titan (Feb 17) i don't get my truck in the rough stuff everyday like you but i have gotten my other trucks out there (before i got this one) especially during hunting season and camping and fishing in the backwoods, i hit some pretty rutted out and root infested trails. So i want to get this titan to where i am comfortable using it as my only mode of transportation to and from work (about 35 miles one way) as well as my go out and get in the rough....i know thats how crap breaks but i am pretty handy with a wrench and always do my own part replacement (if i have the capability, i'm keeping the money). i definately agree, pay for a more reliable part...once!

(part 1 of 3) Lee, that is all awesome and good to know stuff!!! when i can post some pics on here, if you don't mind i'm gonna send some of what i have under it right now..... i bought the truck from a lot so they sprayed the underside which i appreciate but makes it hard to see what i really have up front. i'll send a pic of the rear and front and if you can make out what it is i'd appreciate that. (there was a part# sticker on the front coils which i tried to run online at the major suppliers with no luck....pn 2a21463-1. the coils have the plastic around the bottom turn or two, i read that is one sign of a 08+ nissan titan coil but not 100% sure) with my stock wheels and tire size the front fender was 39.25 inches and the rear was 40.75 inches. (minimal tread wear)

I've never heard anything bad about the pro-comps for the rear, but I don't know. I've had only OEM, and Bilstein 5100s on the back. If you look at some of my other threads, like "lets see you flex your T" you'll see that I also wheel pretty hard, and that I tow hard too. that may be what did in the pro-runners, but as a rule of thumb, if something fails on me, or is not up to the rigors of the use I want it for, I never waste my money on it again and warn others so they may not end up in the same boat. Just keep a close eye on them, check that the threads aren't backing out or stripping at the top of the coil-bucket

now here's the kicker, if you look at my thread "F-Super duty airbags on a Titan" you'll see that while in the rear, I do have 2 additional leaf springs, I have no block. To the best of my knowledge, Titans do not have a block between the spring perch and the leaf-pack. if you have a 1-1/2" inch block on the back, most likely the previous owner got pro-runners on the low perch for the front, and added the block in back to level. I got 2-3/8" of lift up front with my Pro-runners, and I loved the stiff ride. I would have stayed with them had the tops of the stems not snapped off. I actually still have one of them outside my garage right now with the OEM spring still on it.

Soon after, the other side did the same thing, except I caught it right away and didn't drive 200+ miles, about a quarter of that off-road, before rectifying it. I got Rancho quick-lifts, assembled. Killer price, and I've been running them for over a year now. I've never been a fan of rancho priducts, but seems they got these strut/coil assemblies right. The biggest problem with them, is that I lost some lift in the front. My Titan is seriously nose-down, butI'm running about 4" of lift in the rear and about 1-1/2" in the front. The only reason I can even tell my front has that much lift is that I still clear my LT295/75/18 Nittos.

Yeah, you don't need lift to run 285s, I ran Hankook dynapro ATms LT285/65/18 on stock suspension for almost 100K (I had about 3K on the odo when I got them, kept popping the stocker P-rated crap on my way up the mountain to work). My issue was with the pro-comp pro-runners. That was my original front level and I ran them on the highest setting. I had one snap on my way to work while the boss was driving it, (I was driving the rig) and ran it like that for 2 days trying to figure out what the horrible banging was in the front. I had a cracked bumper, so I removed it (this is when I did my bumper mod) and while I was under there taking bolts out, I saw my strut stem wasn't straight. Closer look revealed that the top had snapped off totally, and the stem was floating around inside the coil bucket and spring. Luckily, It was BARELY under warranty still and was replaced at half labor cost, I DID have to rebuild my LCA strut mount.

Lee, thanks for the heads up...i bought the truck with Pro Comp shocks on rear and front but i really don't believe there is a lift or level. i've looked and had others look ('professionals' at 4 wheel and off road shop down the road)....they all seem to believe i am at stock level and that the block on the rear (1.5") is stock. So most likely the guy who owned the truck before me only replaced the shocks with pro comp. not sure why but it is working for me. if you get a chance, can you look at my pics (provided i have enough posts on TT for my pics to show up) and tell me what you think. those are 285/65r18 cooper stt pros (cooper says 33x12) and plenty of clearance, no rubbing so i'm not really sure if there is a lift or level but i now they are pro comp shocks. any feedback and insight you have is appreciated. thanks again.

No change at all, I had a local shop do it. Rather than a 'lift kit', I had them cut me 2 extra leaves and add them to the existing and replace the top leaf with one slightly longer.

Just a quick question for you if you don't mind. When you installed your lift/leveling kit, did your rear tires set back toward the rear of the wheel well? On mine it seems like they are setback about 1" or so from center of the wheel well.

Pro-Comp Pro-Runners on top perch in front for +2-3/8". Mild PWM to clear 295/70/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers at full articulation and turn radius. OEM UCA's and Endlinks. In DIRE need of UCA's and Endlinks/Sway bar bushings, Plan to try Rocky Road's sway bar lock kit as well. In the rear, it's a custom '3/4 ton' set up. 2 extra leaves with the top slightly longer for 1.4" raise. The rear actually sits a HAIR lowr than the front, but that's due to the 800# of toolboxes and transfer tank that I always carry in the back. Billy 5100's in the rear for shocks. Currently in-progress on adapting Airlift bags for Ford Super-Duty/Excursion to the T. Just need some time off and a welder to attach the S-D mounts to the Titan mounts. They'll mount inside the frame rather than outside, so I won't have to worry about the tires rubbing them. Nothing too fancy, and I don't want to go more than maybe 1" higher period front or back. any more than that and it'll be a ***** to get into the toolboxes.

-a set of STROBZ amber LEDs with programmed controller, 8 settings
-two 3" Blazer HID driving lights mounted to the base of the grille plastic, relayed off of the rocker as a throw( 20A)
-I don't remember the brand f the 2" in the center, but it's a 'simulated' HID and the only one direct-wired on the 15A fuse and rocker mounted next to the backup sensor button. Wiring is routed under the weather-stripping on the drivers door and through the d-side fender and under the air-intake.

That's it behind the grille. the 'alien lights' on top started life as a 36" self adhesive flexible LED strip. I cut it in half and put one on each side on top of the grille and tapped them into the parking lights. Next will be relaying the driving lights to slave them to my high-beams, but also leaving the rocker switch option.

Thanks man, I want my lighting scheme to stand out
