Report: Titan Will Live On Without Chrysler, Says Nissan CEO

Somehow Nissan will bring a successor to the Titan pickup truck to market, although it's not known how or when. In an interview with InsideLine, Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said that the Titan will remain. "Titan will have a replacement," he said. "We are staying in the large pickup truck market."

The next Titan was expected to be a rebadged version of the new Dodge Ram, but Chrysler canceled plans for that project shortly after emerging from bankruptcy protection.

That being said, Nissan may continue to use an updated version of the current Titan's platform, which also underpins vehicles like the Armada, Pathfinder, Xterra, Frontier and Infiniti QX56.

If true, I'm really glad to hear that! Don't like the Ram much.

I really hope the T lives on, as I will certainly buy another when my current one finally kicks the bucket. If the Titan were to be no more, I really can't say what other truck I would buy.

Re: Report: Titan Will Live On Without Chrysler, Says Nissan CEO

Good news, but this doesn't say the Titan will live on. It says a large pickup will live on, and he even used the word "replacement"....

So Titan still sounds like it'll die off eventually (which is bad news for anyone with one, it means values drop considerably).

My only thing is what on earth Nissan would replace it with, that they can't do with just a new model. The Dodge deal- That's a whole new truck, understandable to have a new name. But since it's remaining 100% Nissan, I don't understand what they'd "replace" it with.

Re: Report: Titan Will Live On Without Chrysler, Says Nissan CEO

What would nissan replace the Titan nameplate with? its a strong name and would be stupid to replace that. its like ford and F-150. what if they changed that to a name. they never did because they knew customers returned knew they wanted that F-150. Dodge always had Ram. Now they have the RAM brand.

Toyota will not change the tundra nameplate. its silly. I hope they don't change it to a TREE like Leaf!!!! what the hell is that about. prissy sounding thing that will fall apart in the USA. who will buy that thing????

Re: Report: Titan Will Live On Without Chrysler, Says Nissan CEO

my friend is a sales person at Nissan in PA. they are not even thinking of getting any of the Cubes in because they know they won't sell. they have to have a few on hand, but the market on that thing is bleek. the Leaf will only be another FLOP!! They better not touch the titan name or it may flop also.

Who would buy the Hemi engine with a Nissan badge on it! Not me. what the hell is that! man what was nissan thinking. they just think global and not what it really means for quality. maybe the bugs are gone in the Hemi, but the trannys sucked and still do.

Nissan did rebadge a frontier to be a Suzuki. I think that was stupid thing, but nissan did this for Ford also with the villiger minivan. But they never got some junky car and rebadged it a nissan.
