Unless significant changes have been made since 2005 models, I won't be buying another Titan.
Put a real rearend under it, with a powerful-yet fuel efficient V8, and how about a better job on all the lines/hoses/fittings so they don't leak all the freaking time!
I'm not to on top of things here but, if Nissan is going to come out with a diesel it better be a 3/4 ton or bigger or it is going to be a flop.
Not too sure yet, but my insider at my local Nissan stealership told me of a straight 4 diesel engine from cummins with a 6 speed (possibility of a manual trans) nissan titan for release in 2013.
again this is just another rumor to what is probably never going to happen anyway.
just my 2 cents.

Well Nissan and Cummins are teamed up and testing a 4 cylinder diesel in the current Titan chassis. They are hoping to achieve almost 30 mpg while maintaining the same amount of torque we have now (only about 200 hp though). So I wouldn't rule the diesel out.

Yup, seems a little ambitious to me. Although, I've heard of diesel SUV's (VW, BMW, Mercedes, Audi) getting close to 30 mpg with a 3.0L V6 diesel and they weigh about the same as a crew cab. Plus, diesels tend to get better mpgs than the EPA ratings anyways. I'd buy a small diesel Titan as torque is king for me.

They fixed that with the 2008+ trucks.... other than the fuel economy. When shopping used I limited my search to 2008 and newer after my research on here. I bought my 2008 in October 2010 with 44k miles on it. I'm about to hit 80k and 15k+ of that has been towing 7500lbs of racecar and enclosed trailer. Truck has had zero issues.
I'm hoping the 4-cylinder diesel becomes a reality.

I think I heard back up cameras are going to be required on all cars in the next few years, so it looks like Nissan is doing whats necessary to keep the current Titan in production.

Pathetic... nanny-statism at it's best. People are too stupid to back up and too stupid to keep air in their tires so they need the government to make it happen for them.

Did anyone notice they said Nissan carefully taped around the wheel wells to hide a larger tire combo or lift? They obv don't know anything about Nissan because that "tape" they are referring to is the stock pro4x flares.
