If you are having problems logging on....READ HERE!

During the upgrade today, the forums were moved to a different directory on the server which may be causing some of you problems when trying to log on.

Please visit this URL:

http://titantalk.com/forums/mycookies.php

Put a check in all the boxes, and then click "Delete My Cookies"

Then, attempt to log in.

If you still have trouble, and you are SURE that you know your username and password, it may be any "anti-advertising" software, or possibly "anti-virus" software preventing you from logging in... you may wish to try turning off software like that.

To reset your password, simply go to:

http://www.titantalk.com/forums/login.php

And you should be able to do the password reset procedure and have the password mailed to your email account. Keep in mind, if you use a free email account such as yahoo or hotmail, the email might be tagged as spam or bulk mail, so keep an eye out for it.

I deleted my cookies, and it works... and still doesn't work. Now, I have anti-virus software (of course), but that never interfered with logging into TitanTalk before the upgrade.

What's happening is that the login box (on the home page) keeps coming back every time I log in. This at first led me to believe the login didn't 'take'. But when I went to create this reply, I could see my login name at the top of the page, so I am logged in. The error seems to be on the home page. Regardless of your login status, it just keeps displaying the login box instead of the avatar.

<edit>
When I navigated to the home page AFTER typing this reply, it did display the avatar instead of the login box. It seems the home page doesn't read the cookie on a reload of the page?

ALOT of the internal links (links to previous threads and posts) in many threads are not working. Can we get updated adresses for those links, or do the pages just need to be put back where they were in order for the links to work?

No, old symlinnks to threads wont work since the path to the threads have changed.

It went from

titantalk.com/scriptname.php

to
titantalk.com/forums/scriptname.php

There is no elegant way around this, that I can think of.

As far as the login problem, I am unable to reproduce it, it logs me on fine every time.

A link on the front page has been added that you can click on that will take you directly to the forums.

Thanks! thats all I needed to know actually.. I can just insert the '/forums/' on each link manually, and hope for the best.

Every day now after this server change that after I boot up my PC in the morning and goto this site, it does not remember who I am. I then log in no problem, but if I close IE and then come back latter, it still doesn't recognize me. I even did the problem loggin in procedure and cleared out the old cookies, but that didn't help. What is the name of the cookie that holds my login data that I should see? All my other subscribed to forums/sites work as normal with their cookies - what's up here????

Thanks,
dagger

Did you check off that little box below where you logged in that asks if you want to store your cookies?

Yes. Multiple times to be sure.

Even happened here when I opened this site for the first time today to reply to this post. I wonder if it could be blocked by Spybot anti-spyware program (but note it didn't block it before the new web update)??

I had the same problem, I did a search of my hard drive for documents containing titantalk and then deleted them. The next time I logged in and saved the password it's held. try that
