Poor Gas Mileage

Just brought a 2004 Titan, 4x4, tow package, off road crew cab. I am concerned with my gas mileage.
Currently have 1400 miles on truck, travel 50 miles a day and 80% highway. Always keep the RPMs under 2000 rpm. On highway 1,750 rpm at 65 miles per hour. Tire air pressure 36 psi. Running on 87 octane gas. I have been driving this truck as easy as possible to see what type of gas mileage I am getting. When I fill up the tank I divide the gas into the miles driven so I know it is exact. I am averaging 11.1 mpg. Don't get me wrong I know this is a truck, however, I should be getting at least 13 or
14 mpg and when the engine breaks in I should be getting 16 plus. The truck goes in the shop tomorrow, my question is what about the dealer reflashing the computer? Any other things that they should check? I have read about the other mileages on other Titans on this forum and I know somehing is not right. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. This forum is the best!! Thanks. BOBBYO

Log in every time?

Mods,

I've noticed that every time I visit now (at least for the last couple of days) I've had to log in. This is even with 'remember me' checked.

Haven't dumped the cookies, and can see no other reason for it. Maybe you guys will have a moment to check.

Thanks!

BobbyO,

I thought for sure I would be stuck with 10-12 MPG, but this is what we used to call a 'tight motor'. It will begin to free up once you hit about 6,000 miles, and once you get to about 15,000 you'll see your best mileage. At least that's the way mine was.

The GOOD news is, at least in the old days, you could tell you were going to have an engine with a long life if it was tight like this in the beginning. It should be running just as good when the odometer rolls over, and you'll have that "100,000 mile Datsun Smile"...

Now I'm dating myself...

The arcade we still havent fixed but we will get to it.

As far as logging in and out, not sure what would cause that, possibly the server move -- which may fix itself with time.

The FAQ I took down because it was being abused. We are going to setup an FAQ that requires you to login to modify it, which should help the abuses.

I also have to log in everytime I come to TT now. Didn't have to do this before the server change. No changes to computer settings or dumped cookies or anything. Also, if I am idle for a while, I have to log in again when I come back.

Did you try deleting your old cookies? I had the same problem (granted on a PC) but that fixed it.

Do you know when the arcade will be up and running again? Please tell me the high scores will be saved! I do seem to be getting more work done since there hasn't been an arcade though. Thanks, I appreciate all the work you guys do.
