I dont think new members will even notice a difference until they become experienced enough to recognize that a premium member has a different word under their name.
No one should be treated differently if they arent a premium member.
They may see people linking to their garage, or their photopost and send me a message like "how do i do that" -- which I get all the time. And I'll link them to the premium member page.
One idea to entertain , is making the premium member title a link to the page giving info on joining and the extras you get for $xx.xx , it would help make it easier to direct people the info.

Yup, had that idea already
The page I have in mind will act as an index to the people that have it, as well as information for the people that dont.
Preferred memberships don't really do much for me. If you need money to run the site, i'd be more for the contribution, or selling the titantalk stickers or something. just my opinion.
I've seen that concept work well on other very large forums @ $10-20/year, but my perception for those that contribute is that it's as much the status as it is the actual difference in forum services.
I'm OK with the idea, but will I subscribe? Don't know!!
Thanks,
Dale

I don't know that I see the point. If I'm reading this right, you've had over 2,500 people view this, but a little over 100 leave their thoughts. I'm not sure that's much interest. I've owned my Titan for 7 months and have loved it. I've gotten some great ideas and information off this site for free. I just don't see the advantage for someone like me to pay for a premium membership.

"what we have here is a failure to communicate, some men you just cant reach"
ok, i have been reading page after page of suggestions and responses. i havent even gone through them all, and im already tired of all the idiots not reading what ekool is saying that it wont change a thing for the non-payers. dont pay and NOTHING CHANGES! i for one am in like flynn. i have been a member here since march of 04 and will gladly pay. i do like the suggestion that i had several months ago about having titantalk.com stickers part of the deal, but i also can appreciate ekools dilemma about how to get those out to the masses. but that is not a deal breaker for me. yes i could just sit here and not pay for a "premium" membership, but this site has been a haven for news, info, laughs, and sooo much more. bring it on ekool, i will support whatever you choose.
well, everything seems kosher now, but for like 3 or 4 hours, times were wrong, and every time anyone tried to post the site would reject the post and reply with some crap like the administrator says you can only post every 20 seconds or some ****e like that... ask around. i had several other members sending me PMs regarding this problem. it was weird, really weird, then all of a sudden before you obviously received my post everything is as it should be. oh well!!! didn't know who to contact, that would be nice if there was someone we could contact in the event something like that happens again...

I'm a relative newbie to the site, but after reading a number of posts in this thread I would suggest establishing a method of taking donations. I understand you've mentioned you want to offer a service of value rather than ask for donations, but my guess is many who pay for a premium membership would see it as a way to donate. Those who would buy a premium membership and those who would donate are probably mostly the same people. If the premium services were either given away free or offered a la carte it may drive more membership which would likely mean more donations and you would hopefully cover much more than your operating costs. If you could partner with a vendor who could produce and ship branded goods that would be a great way to support your efforts here. Memberships do offer a recurring source of income which can be accounted for much easier than donations or one off sales of t-shirts etc. Maybe you could offer both a way to donate and a membership option. My guess is there are many who would love to help out. Great job here. I probably wouldn't join, but I would be willing to donate to the cause.
First, "Thank you" ekool for starting this site up. Whether you do it for profit or hobby is your business, not mine. I do appreciate what you've put together.
Second, while I'm not a prolific poster of stuff like some others, I have spent hours reading the aforementioned stuff. If a few bucks would help keep things going, I'm in. Third, you have some members who offer up a great deal of terrific info. You might consider giving a free pass to the premium club to them, as they too help make this site what it is. Maybe a weekly or monthly recognition for best info would attract even more of the "how to" posts I find so interesting. Just a thought.
Fourth, keep up the good work!
