Moderator Nomination Time

Well guys, this site just passed the 6,000 member mark last month. With the information and comradery found on this forum, it will continue to grow. We would like to keep it as clean and garbage free as it has been since its inception. So for that, we are asking you guys to nominate some new, additional moderators to keep the site running lean and mean.

So please, post in this thread whom you would like to see as a moderator of your great site. After a couple of weeks of nominations, we will put up a poll and ask you guys to vote. At this point, I am unsure how many we will add, but it is clear we need a few more. If you have a specific area you think they would be good for, say the "buy/sell forum", feel free to include that information.

Okay guys... nominate away!!

I agree with coach,

Squid for off-topic area
Vshortt for Super off-topic
Trikky for General
TNbowhunter not real sure
Prometheus also for both the off-topic and Super off-topic

but I would also add HavockWK to that list!

I like the bestatchess posts. I think he would make a good moderator.

Not sure if he would be willing, though.

I'm not sure what's going on with Squid. I sent him a pm over 24 hours ago and still no response. That's just not like him. On another note, castrol, when did you become an administrator?

The mods we have do a great job but are getting stretched a little thin. They probably could use a little extra help.

They do get stretched thin, and the key to a successful forum is to stay ahead
of the game and not let your mods get overwhelmed.

I was supposed to be admin from the start, but ekool didn't get my title and
permissions done until what.. yesterday I think?

i agree!!! our mods do a fantastic job!!! Bayou, Roy, and Lon are awesome!!! but wedgie has a point, they've got there hands full, but we've got to give them a hand, they do the work of 6 moderators!!! am i leaving out a current mod? i can only think of the 3 right now...

Wedgie, i'm sure that squid is on some sort of serious restriction because he would always brag about having capabilities of posting no matter his 20. so maybe the wife put the pants on and is whipping him into shape to finish that honeydew list!!!

Sammy if he'd do it. He's always polite and helpful with his posts, but I haven't seen him around lately.

I do seem to remember Squids wife giving him an ultimatum of sorts. Seems as if even though Lon reduced Squid's post count, the Squidster's wife decided it was enough anyway. He'll be back I'm sure. Well, maybe in a year or two when he finishes the honey-do list.

That's a pretty good list if I do say so myself.

Seriously though, most people aren't going to be able to devote huge amounts of time to this. Granted, sometimes on the weekend I am on here almost non-stop but during the week I just slip in several times a day to check up on things while I'm at work. Squid would actually be a great addition (assuming he get's to come back) because he is on most of the late night to early morning hours.

Let's not forget the fine line that moderators must walk as well. They make judgement calls all the time and the current ones do a great job. I'm sure that many times some of the mods here would like to just delete a post because they didn't necessarily agree with it. A mod must learn to take posts with a grain of salt.
