I bought my truck in Feb '04, but had never considered being in any kind of stupid forum* until Aug/Sep '04 when I was searching on Yahoo! (screw google!) for performance mod comparisons for the Titan. Some posts from Titantalk came up in the first few results, and I started reading the great stuff on here. I joined just to try and keep track of all the great info I was learning.
*I never thought forums had a meaning in my life until I found TT. Now I am an active member here and over at CT. TT has changed my life, and made me a better Titan owner! Seriously, I am a real introvert. Since I became really active here, I will actually stop people and talk to them about their Titan and tell them to come visit TT. I would never have done that before.
And I thought it was just a good way to waste time at work.
And I thought it was just a good way to waste time at work.
It is now. Back then, I actually worked hard and thought it would help me get somewhere. Now, my management is so bad, that well... Let's just say that they got laid off in the re-org last week because they won't allow many of us to do what we were hired to do and used to do and now things are not working like they are supposed to. So my TT at work days will slow down as I start to actually be allowed to do my job again.
Found it on google too. Researched here and on the other site a good bit before I bought. Was very impressed (still am) with the site look and layout. Easy to get around and lots of functionality
Bought the truck and then searched out folks who knew more about it than I did-found the sight.
I like the Active Topics feature, the search engine and certainly appreciate the moderators. (This is where you can play "We are the world" if you like.)
The other forum Club Titan is pretty good but more difficult to navigate IMHO.
I'd like to see a bonafied Nissan Representative answer questions we send to a Moderator. I think we represent a population that they should respond to as long as we are appropriate with our questions/comments.
I wouldn't mind a section on "best prices" on key parts that people want. Ex. Who's got the best deal on a Volant CAI? Gibson Side Swept exhaust? Etc. My goal in doing this would be free advertising to the best dealer and reduce our time searching for stuff...(This idea may peave you sponsors some but it's just a suggestion.)
Keep up the good work. It is appreciated.

I bought my Titan in March of 2004. My brother alerted me to the TitanTalk website shortly thereafter. I had never visited or participated in an online forum before but went ahead and joined soon after. I didn't really use the site very much until I wanted to add satellite radio to my truck. So many of the posts by many different users were of such GREAT help in this mod that I started paying more attention to the site and started trying to contribute what I could to some of the other members to help them out with anything I knew a little about. I checked out CT (found out about it on this site) but just haven't been near as active over there. Like Squid said - this place is very active and that makes it enjoyable. Thanks ekool for administrating this web site!!

I bought my truck in January of 04, after looking at the new F150's. I did some brief research on Nissan's website before the purchase. As everyone knows, the Titan is just more truck for the money.
I was curious about a few things on the truck, and found the site during a Google search. I lurked for a little while, but just couldn't wait to join in with such a great bunch of guys that were genuinely excited about owning a Titan. I had never joined a forum of any kind before, but just reading some of the posts by the early members made me want to be part of the community.
Back then, every little new thing we learned about the truck was akin to Columbus discovering America. It really got everyone pumped up to share in the latest new information.
What I like the least about the site now is that it isn't that small collection of friends anymore. A lot of the names I looked forward to seeing everyday just faded away. I know it's just a part of life that things change, and people move on for many different reasons.
What I like the best about the board is the way it has always gotten better in the way of features that benefit the members. As titantalk gets bigger, the site justs keeps getting better in that regard. It is also a lot more civil than I thought it would be when it got to be this large.
I still look forward to coming here everyday, just to see what's going on. I couldn't imagine not owning a Titan, or being a titantalker.
If I remeber right I found it on MSN. As soon as I saw the first Titan ad or was it the actual truck? I was hooked. Found this meltingpot of info in Jan. 04, and made my purchase in Mar. 04. Ekool, thanks for putting together such a good place for all of us Titanaholics to mingle
TitanTalk is a virutal "Font of (mostly) useful Information" for those who read it. You sometimes have to be careful which information you use...because some of the posts can be misleading or incorrect. This is nothing that you can change.
I like that some of the users have made posts for Service Issues and TSB's.
Perhaps a direct link to these pages in the header would be good, or new sections for these items.

I started looking for a new truck late in 03. Search came up with this site so I started reading up. I bought my Titan in Feb of 04 and went into officer candidate school, gone from real life for 3 months. When I got out signed up and started to play with my truck adding things here and there. I used this site to get ideas and hints on what and how to do. I also added what I did and some pics. I think it started out great as a site to get ideas and work on our trucks "together" getting ideas and how tos. The site has grown since then and expanded out to many other vast areas. It still is a trip to read some of the posts. At this point the search button brings up a few pages of information where before there was only a post or two. Wonder what will come next.

It was so far back that I can't remember for sure. I think I searched for titan and titantalk came up and I lurked for a couple of weeks. There wasn't really any action, but I decided to join up and have been here for almost two years! I was interested in buying a Titan from the moment I heard that Nissan was going to sell a full sized truck so i was always looking for info.
I enjoy the site but I do miss some of the older posters even though there are some "new" (at least to me) good people.. I do have a hard time keeping up now as i am pretty busy. In the beginning, I read every post and responded to many.

actually, i knew that i was going to buy a TITAN. however, i was searching for comparisons between the TITAN and the f150 and yahoo directed me to a thread here on titantalk. i never really got into message boards before that either. i joined a few here and there but never really got into it. then i discovered titantalk. now im a message board junkie and really miss when i dont get to check back at least 3-5 times a day. like squid said, there is so much info out there for the new TITAN owner that 20 bucks almost seems like we are ripping ekool off. i woulda paid that from the start.
I searched with google. I entered titan lift or something like that in the search box. Then it came up with a forum with nissan 4x4. Then I continued to read that forum. And searched that site for intakes for our truck. Then somebody mention Titantalk.com. And here I am.
That is exactly how I found this site also, I had a Fronty and used that site often, then when I purchased the Titan I was reading a post that linked to this site.

I've been very curious as to how people found our site, what your first impressions are, and now after being here for a while, what you still think about the site.
Please give us your feedback so we can continue to improve the site.
My first time was a few days after buying my truck. I was looking for input on a tonneau cover and I actually within three days joined three sites regarding Titans using and within 2 weeks abandoned the other two sites. No suggestions on inprovements. Ive been able to obtain any info needed and try to help out when possible ('cept when it pizzes off Farmer Fred) LOL. Keep up good work. $20 way cheap for the kind and extent of info you can get here.

I found the site by doing a search in Yahoo for "Nissan Titan Forum". This forum was key in helping me research the Titan. I purchased 4/22/05 and became a member shortly after. I've done alot of research (i.e. "searches") for alot of different things such as Amsoil vs. Mobil1, Brake issues, rear diff issues, various How-tos, etc. All of that reading has led me to the conclusion that this is THE BEST Titan site on the net, so I decided to support the forum and become a "Premium Member". All the info here is more than worth the membership fee.
To all of the Mods & Administrators - Thanks for everything & keep up the good work...
In November of 2003, I began searching for information on my new truck purchase. It was a dead heat between the Titan and the F-150. I ended up finding this forum as a result of a google search. Funny though, when I first came here, I remeber that there were only about 4 different sections and general discussion had about 8 threads. Of those, about 3 had replies and that was about it. Now look at this place. I ultimately joined in April 2004. It was pretty much within days of buying my truck.
