if i remember correctly i Gooogled Nissan Titan because i was looking for Titan parts and accessories and i came along this site by accident. Damn glad i did. although i don't post a lot i do visit this site multiple times through out the day.
My last truck was a 2002 Frontier crew cab. I spent many hours on the TUNFS forum. Many members from that forum bought Titans and they mentioned Titan Talk in there and I've been in here ever since then. After reading many posts I went out and traded the Frontier for the Titan.
You all helped me make a great choice.
Clint

You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
or get married and wish you were dead.
Joined Summer of 2004 when I was looking for a new truck. Think I searched for Nissan Titan forum (not sure what search engine) as I have been a member of other auto forums and seem to get a lot of good info that way. I still check in at least 3-4 times a week because there is always something new.

My dealer told me that I took delivery of the first Titan in Colorado. I have no way of proving that, but I’ll take them at their word, until proven wrong.
I joined this forum on 2-13-04, about a month after I got my truck. There were far fewer members, then, but I remember learning all the idiosyncrasies of the Titan with the likes of keane, pagerdaddy and, of course, CaliforniaTitan. I belong to a couple of forums, and all of them have proven valuable, to some degree, but I always find myself coming back to this one, simply for the enjoyment of reading what everyone has to say. I don’t do much posting, anymore, and I'm certainly never gonna match the efforts of He-Who-Types-With-Tentacles, but I always enjoy my visits, and at those times when I ask for information, someone always comes through.
You've done a good job, ekool. There have been a few bumps along the way, but you've stuck to your standards, as have our moderators, and I commend you for that…all of you.
Okay...that's enough a$$-kissing. I’d like to see two things added to the forum: :
1.) I'd like you to consider adding a Rocky Mountain Regional Forum. Those of us who live at altitude really don't "fit" into any of the existing regional forums.
2.) I’d like to add my 2-cents to a suggestion that has already been voiced by Kronos1965. It would seem that Nissan would benefit from having some form of “real” representation here. We all know that they’re already lurking in the shadows, so what would they have to lose if they offered-up an employee as an actual member? They would surely benefit from the discussions that proliferate, and their presence would be a demonstration of genuine interest towards a growing band of loyal enthusiasts. Perhaps TT has enough clout, now, to approach Nissan in this regard.
My best to all
Colorado

I've never seen a car manufacturer participate in any official capacity other then 'press releases' -- no interaction whatsoever, no answering of questions. etc. The reason why is that being on the internet, makes it very easy for someone to misuse or misrepresent what is said to gain a benefit. "Joe said I could lift my truck and it wouldnt void my warranty" -- etc. Anyone can spearhead the cause with Nissan and we will do everything in our power to accomodate them (acting as a go between, etc) -- but I think its a long shot.
As far as the regional forum, if we get enough demand for a specific section, we create it. Start a poll and if enough locals request it, we can get'er done
Havock was on, and he was playing yetti olympics. I got hooked, so I had to have my own TT account. Of course, then I just got hooked on TT in general! :

Like a few others posting here, I had already made the decision to purchase a Titan before discovering this site (Googled it back in summer of last year prior to that purchase) and have been a lurker ever since. This site allowed me to make an informed decision before settling on my truck -- 'informed' in the sense that the brake rotor issue did not come as a surprise. A disappointment yes, but not a surprise (my rotors are about to be replaced for the third time). I was hopeful that my truck would not have that problem -- doh!
Also, browsing this site has saved me well over the $20 required for premium membership. I strongly urge any other lurkers to pony up. 8) ekool has done a superb job with this site, and many members have also contributed solidly so that all may benefit.
Colorado, et al,
As to official Nissan activity on this site, IMHO, Nissan will probably not allow any employees to identify themselves as such due to liability and safety concerns. From a safety perspective, they will most likely be concerned that frustrated/angry TT members might 'attack' that employee. While most of us would not take out any frustrations against an 'official' Nissan poster, they/Nissan will not take that chance. Enough folks lose their identities online anonymously without some poor Nissan employee becoming a special target just because of their affiliation with Nissan. From a liability perspective, if Nissan posts 'something' here and doesn't commit to the 'something', any ambulance-chaser worth their salt (an oxymoron if ever was spoken) would be all over that mistake. Sadly our society does not allow anyone the opportunity to speak their mind or make a mistake without holding it against them. (can I say that we have too many lawyers in the good ole USA, or will someone hold that against me?)
I actually learned about the site from a fellow Titan owner I ran into at the car wash about 2 weeks after buying my Titan in July '04. I had done a considerable amount of research on the truck prior to purchasing it, but never ran across this site prior to the purchase. I actually made my decision to buy the Titan based off of a GM promotion that was going on in Kansas City the summer of '04. GM brought in all of there products, as well as their competitors products, set up test drive courses and allowed you to drive one after another to make comarrisons. I was able to drive the Titan, Silverado Sierra, F-150 and Ram all within an hour and that certainly sealed the deal for me. It was pretty funny to hear so many people at the event comment on how they wre only using the experience to test drive other products.
. Sadly our society does not allow anyone the opportunity to speak their mind or make a mistake without holding it against them. (can I say that we have too many lawyers in the good ole USA, or will someone hold that against me?)
Just my 2c,
Jack
Bestatchess might hold it against you and he is a new moderator! I think he is a lawyer, what kind, I don't know but I don't think he is an ambulance chaser. Actually, I wouldn't worry about it, I don't think anyone would hold it against you - I have said it myself a few times!

I actually did a search on Yahoo when I was trying to find more info on the Titan before I made my purchase. Which led me to this site. I lurked about fora while, looking up info, and I actually didn't join until a while after I had my truxk. And although I hadn't previously used any forum, or had knowledge of how to, this site was very easy to use. But more importantly, it's the people who make this site was it is, especially the Admin folks.
I have looked at other Titan forums and other car forums, and this one (IMO) is by far the best. I noticed some of the other truck sites I visited had some comradery and kinship, but nothing like this one.
Keep up the good work everyone...
