can't wait for new tundra so i can get rid of this titan. new boats extra towing weight caused me to sell my great tundra [7100lb.] & buy a titan LE [9400lb.]. brought to dealer 9 times for brake work, 4 times for radio, 2 times for drivers window switch, 3 times for trailer lights not working. i have owned seven toyota trucks & never returned to the dealer with a problem. NEW TUNDRA, CAN'T WAIT

Re: Heavy Duty Titan On The Way!

I wish they would forget about the 3/4-ton and go straight to a 1-ton.

Re: Heavy Duty Titan On The Way!

3/4 ton with a higher torque and hp gas motor? sounds interesting or even a
diesel option sounds good to me. will have to wait and see, can't believe they won't make any major changes till 2009.

What's to change?

I personally can't stand these 4 year model changes. WTF? The only reason is to sell more and make more $$$. Everyone is always trying to "out do" the other guy.

I like the Jeep model lineups (the older ones) models are around for at least 10 years. That way there are PLENTY of parts available.

I think the Titan is great as it is. It's only been out 3 years. 09 will make 5 years. I think that is feasable.

Re: Heavy Duty Titan On The Way!

i think the Titan is fine the way it is.. if you want 3/4 ton or bigger go dodge, ford, or chevy. Titan is a good play vehicle... would not make a very good work vehicle.

I am waiting on the Titan IV, I heard it has good payload capacity and has decent 1/4 mile times. I wonder if my lift kit can transer over?

Titan IV

Titan IV, produced and launched for the U.S. Air Force by Lockheed Martin, is the nation's largest, most powerful expendable space launch vehicle. It provides primary access to space for critical national security and civil payloads and is launched from the East and West Coasts.

Titan launch systems have a better than 95% operational success rate. Titan IV is capable of placing 47,800 lb into low-Earth orbit or more than 12,700 lb into geosynchronous orbit - 22,300 miles above the Earth.

Titan IV consists of two solid-propellant stage "O" motors, a liquid propellant 2-stage core and a 16.7-ft diameter payload fairing. Upgraded 3-segment solid rocket motors increase the vehicle's payload capability by approximately 25%.

Re: Heavy Duty Titan On The Way!

my 2 pennies on the subject of payload. I for one am more than pleased so far with my 2006 Titan. Granted it is not a true 3/4 ton, but, it has all the power and capacity that I can use. I have a 19 foot bayliner boat that I was finally able to hook up to and pull to the river the other day. I was really pleasantly surprised with the power it showed going over a couple of the hills on the way.

The f-250 wouldn't pull that well, it lugged down really quick once it was any uphill slope. The Titan on the other hand just said to me, "Is that all you got?"

I think you missed my point in your haste to make fun of me. I guess your easily destracted. Oooo look at the shinny thing, go get it, go get it. Why post your complaint and want of a different truck in this thread. I guess heavy duty Titan equates to talking about Tundras and how cool they will be and the problems you have had with your Titan. I know there are problems and I don't make fun of people who have them. Posting that here is just whinning and bad mouthing the truck any chance you get, which ain't useful to anybody. If you want to vent there is a thread labeled problems if I am not mistaken. I hope you have better luck with your Tundra when you get it. Have a nice day.
